Apple Of Sodom has become a fan-favourite due to its inclusion as a live performance on the concert VHS Dead To The World, and as a live recording on The Dope Show CD single in 1998. The song was initially recorded in studio for Lost Highway, but the live version has become more widely regarded in terms of thematic and musical relevance to the Marilyn Manson canon.

In addition to the soundtrack contribution, Manson and Twiggy Ramirez also made brief cameos in the film, details of which can be found here: Acting Credits

It is noted in Manson's autobiography, in the closing pages of Chapter 15, that whilst being bounced back and forth between Trent Reznor, studio doors and David Lynch (Lost Highway's director), Manson came to the realisation that his drug habits were becoming counter-productive to his work ethic, which was meant to be focused on finishing the band's first career opus, Antichrist Superstar. It was perhaps this moment of clarity that inspired some of the lyrics for Apple Of Sodom.
