I'm guessing their set will be longer on their own tour? I they add back Pretty as Swastika and WOW.

(ok, since no one else has posted, just gonna copy and paste what i posted on another board...my reviews are kind of disjointed, so apologies in advance. and i'm working on my photos now...)

Don't have the set list but again, they opened with "We're From America" (which I suspect will stay the same throughout this leg of the tour). They definitely did play "Tourniquet" this time (don't remember for sure if they did in Wheatland) and added "If I Was Your Vampire", with Manson in that plastic box/popemobile type thing, from which he cuts himself out of with the knife microphone. He also at one point threw a white sheet over himself and walked around looking like a ghost. There's one or two promo shots out there where his face is covered by what looks to be the same thing he threw over himself last. Again, he sounded pretty decent (maybe he really is cleaning up his act some) and all in all I think last night's show was even better than the previous night's show. Jeordie seemed a little bit more into the audience at this show as well, and Manson managed to not almost kill him this time. Always a good thing. I didn't see this in Wheatland either, but during one song they brought out the lighted candles that had been used on the ROTW tour last winter. Nice touch. Lots of confetti at this one as well. Closed out the night with "The Beautiful People". I guess you can say it was an encore as there was a couple minutes pause between this and "Sweet Dreams".

Thanks for the review!

=)

BTW.,

For everyone complaining that the set is so short, Manson only has an hour so you can't expect many more songs...

I'm really digging Twiggy on guitar. Tourniquet has a vibe so much more similar to the album version than I can remember. J5 played this song well, but it was much more sterile - this time around it has that grit to it that really helps with the songs vibe.

I still think Sweet Dreams is a horrible choice - he's established himself FAR beyond the cover song that gained MTV airtime, and I think it really ruins the momentum of the set. It really comes off as a song the band feels obligated to play, versus something they feel inspired to play. I'd much rather them scrap that and just pick something they feel. There should be no fear of alienating the "sweet dreamers" as they are probably bigger fans of MM's original material.

I can't wait to see how the tour progresses, and more so what leads up to their headlining tour.

I was liking the set at the end of the EU tour, but not this. WFA is a good and obvious addition, but I don't like them dropping WOW and GBWW, especially to replace it with IIWYV. I also liked that they were doing The Love Song. Has this been dropped too?

Little Horn makes me happy though :D

So Slayer and Manson both play only one hour?

Agreed. Besides I think nowadays Tainted Love is his most well known cover anyway, so if he can scrap that he can scrap Sweet Dreams too.

Thanks for posting your pictures, thousand_kisses...they are lovely...especially this one, where Manson and Twiggy look like they are doing a "secret" huddle. :P

...and it's cool to see a return of the candles from ROTW. :)

This one is kind of sad, though...the skin below his arm doesn't look healthy at all... :\

apologies for there being so many of twiggy and not so many of anyone else, but i was standing right in front of him so he was the easiest one to take pictures of. Manson was second easiest. the rest of the band....not so much, lol. couldn't even see chris from where i was.

Question though, you didn't happen to snap any pictures that showed what type of amp rig he's running? Or did you happen to catch a glimpse of his setup? Gear neards need to know hahaha :)

Yeah, he's had his grill for every show, the cloth was draped over his head for "Sweet Dreams...," the gently falling confetti has been used during "Four Rusted Horses" for every show so far, but they added the giant confetti cannons from the RotWT shows with this show, spraying out the long, stringy, white confetti during the last refrains of "Rock Is Dead," which was done the following night in San Bernardino as well.
