exacto knifes for the win. i couldnt live without my exacto. box cutters are good, but i find them too big and bulky to cut anything small with. theyre good if youre doing a large scale project, or, well, cutting a box. lol.

those stickers do look pretty good, though. really not bad for using scissors, i never did like scissors.

the painting of the eyes looks really good too. the iris' look really good. well done.

I haven't made anything since taking this class in high school, myself... but he was really fun to make ^^ I think next I'm going to try and make an Utena ring ( http://utena.rightstuf.com/style/images/ring4.jpg Not like this but a ring with that symbol made of clay ) for a friend in Florida for her birthday, since I got her into the series :)

Procrastinator - Thank you!! *^^* I tried to not only stick to one style (I actually draw in a manga style, but I thought it would be best to stray away a bit from that for the portfolio lol!) hoping I could seem like I could pull off all sorts of things, So it's nice to hear that x)

Sadly, I didn't get enough money to attend the school :/ It was for the Columbus College of Art and Design. Tuition alone is about 26,000$ a year, and I received 36,000$ to span the four years. I qualified for the full pell grant and there was another grant which was like 800$ a semester, but as you can imagine it wasn't enough XD I didn't think it was the best idea to go into that much debt for art school, so now I'm attending my local community college and plan to study Japanese, but I will always do art :) (I just wish I could find a way to make at least a little money off of it! lol! My artist friends are getting into it, but...I guess idk how myself! XD) It's kind of embarrassing to admit, but I was in such a slump because I didn't get enough $ for art school, so last summer the only really painted Him (well, it was the only decent thing I made) and I was too down most of the time to make something decent. Then around November of last year I re-discovered my love for Pee Wee and painted a series of three portraits :) I think I'm burnt out on him though, lol! So I'm waiting to find something else that really gets me painting :)

I LOVE PPG!!! XD They're one of my absolute favorites!!!! It's such a great cartoon. I also really love Courage the cowardly Dog, Ed, Edd n Eddy, shows from around that time on CN are totally great! They don't show PPG here, either :/ It really is a shame!

Ignite_Midnight - Thank you very much!! :) I love Tim Burton movies, but I was never really a fan of Emily when I first saw Corpse Bride. Before I did that piece, however, I started to understand her better and thus begin to like her a lot!! So I was inspired by her, and I had some black paper and decide to experiment ! :) I really like how it came out, the colored pencil on black paper. I started another one in that style (can't remember what of, though...) but it didn't turn out so I scrapped it. But I REALLY like that style and hope to do more in the future like that (if I can lol!) and I'm happy you like it too!! :)

The yellow is because I was working on it last night (actually, I have it in front of me right now and am currently working on it) and it's just my weird light on the paper. I've been too lazy to scan WIPs so I just take pics with my phone. I know I already made his lips weird... that bubblegum was pretty hard for me to position :((

I thought since I already have my own art thread, I should stick these here instead of the MM fanarts, or should I put them there instead? Anyways, this is the finished colored pencils for the MM piece. I'm working on the watercolors now :) I'm not sure if I should keep up this method, but we'll see how this piece turns out ^_^

NEW WORK IN PROGRESS :D It's Manson *n.n* No I haven't finished the watercolor... I was looking at it the other day and really started to dislike it... :( My new goal is by the end of summer is to finish that piece, considering all the free time I have xD AAAND I wanna work on drafts for the Portraits project!! <333 I have some ideas and I need to start sketching them out.

But this is being done on 6"x9"Artagain paper. Not going to lie to you lovely folks I have no idea what Artagain paper is, maybe recycled?, but it's black xD and I'm using colored pencils on it ^^ It's similar to my Corpse Bride piece done on the first page :)

I started working on the watercolor again and I got a lot of black on, but it's pissing me off. My good brush is about to kick the bucket and it was making really lousy lines and I was trying to get the eyelash done quickly and it looks awful. I changed me mind I have no idea when I'll finish it. For those wanting to see the finish product I'm so sorry. I'm just putting that one on hold for a while; I want to work on my portrait project anyways :) Maybe I'll do colored pencil instead of watercolors!!! Who knows:)

HSA - Thank you so much!! :D I'm still working on it, I starting adding the black paint and I REALLY hated the way his lower lash turned out... It made me angry and frustrated since I had already put so much time into it >< I just looked at it, and it's not as bad as I remember XD When I want to watercolor again, I'll try and pick it back up :D So far, the only part that I have scanned in is it right after I finished the color pencil outlines ^^

Thank you both so much! :) I really need to clean my room. I've had this nasty weird sickness or allergy thing going on and my room is just filled with tissues and bags and ugh not a good work space LOL! I also just stared up school again so I need to do get some homework done T_T bah I should have worked on this more during vacation when I had more time and wasn't....sick or having allergies lol!

I also started a new Manson piece around the same time I started coloring this, but I haven't touched it. I'm experimenting with yet another new style, I can't wait to share with everyone :)

I think you should paint lots of cats because you really love them, and I'm sure your love for them will show in the paintings!

I also want you to paint your pain, but everything you paint should have been felt for real, otherwise it will just look like a photo..... it's not that I have anything against photos, but for me a real artist paint what they have felt. - And photos often show another reality than the real reality of the creature, I want you to see the real thoughts of the creature you want to paint.

I know I'm being a bit arrogant here, but I have good intentions ;-)

I understand! That is a huge fault I think I have, I am not very creative and I am best at copying real life images. It's hard to draw real models, because I feel rushed to not make the person sit still too long. My portraits are my strong point, but they are just copies.

I really love drawing in the anime/manga style. That is my personal style, and I love it! I feel through those I am more able to express myself. The reason I started drawing in a realistic style was to prove that I could draw, I wanted to make people know that I am not just scribbling on paper, but actually making art and had "skill". The way I thought I could achieve that was with copying photos like what I have been doing.

I mentioned it before, but I didn't get enough money for art school and that was such a huge blow, having my art being judged as not good enough. That's why I have been continuing trying to improve my realism. A lot of people don't take cartoons seriously, even my friends who draw in cartoon style! In fact, in high school, a lot of the artsy people looked down on it even in they partook in it.

So I think, doing these and showing them off, I am trying to validate myself as an artist, and get praise. I don't want to sound like a major asshole, but in terms of if my drawings actually looked like the subject, my art became better than those of my fellow art students (in high school) who looked down on cartoons. That, and just a lot about my personality (I try and be silly and nice to people, but a lot think of that as stupidity) I was still dumped on as just an anime artist because, like I said, it's my main style and they could get away with it because I never aid anything. I am still trying to prove myself. I don't know why... Since I am not going to major in art, I should be free to draw whatever I like, huh? I get a certain satisfaction when I draw portraits and they look similar to the subject :)

Sorry, that was one big ramble, LOL! I guess that, and I am not very creative, I don't think... Haha ^^;;

I think you are very creative sweetheart, I just want to see more of your talent because you sure have a lot of it! - And of course you should do it your way.

By the way, photos can also be art sometimes, but often they are just photos, and that's also fine if you are in that mood ;-)

I just think somebody with your talent should try to express more ''hidden'' things also ;-)

So I'm just giving you a compliment here because I really like your art!!!

Try to study the people who bash other people, it's usually people who doesn't have any healthy interests like science or art or whatever.

It's often people who doesn't have any controle over their own life. - And therefore have a need to bash other people so they don't have to take care of their own life, and problems.

People like that bore me ( They are so transparent ) - I prefer the company of intelligent people!

Constructive criticism is fine though :-)

Thank you very much! ;w; I felt so bad after hearing what happened to him, seeing a video of it, it was really sad >_< The idea was since I can't give him a bouquet or something, I could draw him a flower :) I used metallic watercolors too, and the scan doesn't so it much justice... it looks much better in person ^^; This was also my first time really trying to paint a rose :D

I hope he sees it too ;w; I posted it on fb (tagged him in the pic comment and posted it on his fan wall) but I'm not sure how much of it he sees, or when he does look at it, my post was probably lost by then ^^; but who knows... if he did I hope it made him smile :)
