The 02 is a great new venue. I went to the launch show last night - a little smaller than the Carling Academy but only marginally. The stage is closer to the audience - less of a gap between stage and front row.

Sound wise could be a little better but this may have been first night issues that will be sorted out.

We have our tickets booked now, so will see you all there - will have to try and hook a meet up at the very least.

Ours just came through the door, but then our postie is shit. My Dad sent me a cheque the other day and it was registered for signature on delivery - postie just shoved it through the door.

I hope we can get a PM:UMB meet through on this. I met Alan, Tim, Rich and a few others a couple of years ago in Birmingham, it will be fantastic to do that again.

We did okay when we did it last time. It was hard above all the noise but we managed to get about ten of us together for the show we met up on.

I think meeting for a festival is also different than for a show, as at a festival there is normally a dozen things you want to be doing.

Just got to the hotel, the shows just finished -

Setlist was similar to the others, no Running to the edge of the World, but we did get Coma White / Black.

Vampire was played earlier on in the set, I was expecting it towards the end.

The show was fucking outstanding, Manson picked on this blonde girl sat looking grumpy, it was mega funny, I think she got up and left when he called her retarded (or asked if she was, or something) - Video to come very soon hopefully.

I got the Spread Eagle Shirt and got the key ring. Wanted to get Glow Sticks but the merch seller said they weren't allowed to sell them, something to do with the chemical in it or something I think someone said. But I saw one or two Glow Sticks get thrown around, so either they were brought in, or someone sold some.

I got a bootlegged spread eagle shirt on the outside of the venue at the end as well, I'm not going to wear it, but I saw it and thought I would get it, it was only a tenner. I also got 2 double sided posters, terrible quality, lol but I paid for two and lifted the third, as if they were going to count how many I had, it was crazy, people were grabbing them fast.

Ah shit, you didn't get We're From America? I don't know if that was played at the second Brixton date, I forgot to read the setlist, but it was a highlight for me personally on the ninth. I am so fucking glad the intimacy that shone through in pictures from all the Rape Of The World shows in 2008 has prevailed in this leg of the current tour, it seems to suit Marilyn Manson so much more at this stage, and with the songs they are playing.

I am so glad everyone had an excellent time, these images and videos look great!

Alan I wish I had seen you there. We were on Twiggy's side, about three rows back, though it was absolutely rammed.

This to me was Manson back on top form. The show was non stop energy, enthusiasm, brilliance. I love it when Manson said "London is Birmingham's Bitch now" given the crowd in Brum was so raw and LOUD.

I remember the bit where Manson chewed out the miserable girl, it was pretty light hearted from Manson - not nasty. If she left because of that, then more fool her for letting Manson get the upper hand.

The set list was brilliant. With classics like Rock and Roll Nigger, Dried Up, Tied Up And Dead To The World (one of my FAV ACSS songs) and Coma White/Coma Black - I mean this was just Manson picking some of the best songs he has done. And starting with Cruci-Fiction - could not have started any better imo!

I loved the interaction between Manson and Twiggy "Fuck You", "No, Fuck You" and the "sharing" of the drink". Shame there was no interaction with anyone else in the band, but they were really brilliant, all of them.

Saw Tim, Psychological and Hannah after. Could not get a signal inside the venue and sadly my phone camera is not the greatest. Which is a shame because of the changes Manson made in small costume changes, I had hoped to pick better shots. And my voice was so fucked last nite I spent ages coughing as my throat was so raw - still hurts now.

Really was a blast. Loved it.

Picked up the Skull Tee and the Spread Eagle Tee and the sweat band. Wanted the hoodie but at £45 I would not have been able to get anything else.

Thanks for posting the vids Norse and the pics are awesome.

I am on such a high after this.

Oh and the support band were pretty good. His voice is a bit Maynard, and I felt for the female bassist who's sound was buggered for the first two tracks, but they were pretty good.

BTW: Sorry to anyone I missed last nite. I tried to get my number out to a few people but also there was no signal in the venue which meant I could only pick up messages when we were leaving. It's been a real weird few months for me but next gig, I do promise I will happily meet everyone for a drink before hand.

Last night was incredible. Manson touched my hand then I got one of his towels, good times.

The set list was excellent and the performance should hopefully have silenced the many naysayers I saw while queuing, it was amazing. ("I hear he's really fat and uses oxygen now." - I also heard some pretty absurd status updates on Phantasmagoria.)
I was stupidly excited for Dried Up, Tied and Dead to the World, being perhaps my favourite song ever, and hearing that followed by Coma White was awesome.
Despite being wedged right up front and center, I was surprised by how few people around me seemed to know the newer songs, but their loss I guess, as Pretty as a Swastika was a definite highlight, as were Devour and Four Rusted Horses.
Cruci-fiction in Space was every bit as great an opener as I thought it would be, and the laser gloves were a brilliant touch, if only the dickhead behind me shouting in my ear had actually known any of the words.
The crowd were pretty violent, my brother's girlfriend got hit until she gave up the towel she caught, lol, but it didn't really effect me and I had an amazing time.

Anyone else who was there notice an overwhelming amount of people wearing Slipknot t shirts?

As mentioned, Manson ripping on that girl was hilarious.
The pre-Dope Show speech was also very funny.
Manson looked like he was enjoying the whole show, which was good to see.

Sorry for the fairly disjointed account.

A couple of people around me seemed to think Rocket Queen was another Manson song or something, presumably because it was still all dark when it started playing, but I found that pretty funny.

I also wanted to add that I've seen quite a few people insulting Twiggy's guitar playing this tour, but I've got to say he was perfect last night, and his backing vocals were an excellent touch.
Andy was great as well, I liked his stage presence and I couldn't see Vrenna too much, but he looked like he was really giving it his all.
Ginger was just as excellent as ever, too, I always feel that he's the real driving force behind Manson's music.

I can't remember which song it was, but I noticed he had changed it to suit his playing, but that is what all MM guitarist have done. Twiggy was great though and I enjoyed watching him play.

Andy was great as well, I liked his stage presence and I couldn't see Vrenna too much, but he looked like he was really giving it his all.

Yeah Andy fit in well. And Vrenna was headbanging away at the keyboards.

Ginger was just as excellent as ever, too, I always feel that he's the real driving force behind Manson's music.

Sadly where I was, I only caught two glimpses of Ginger - is it me or has he got his hair highlighted again? And I agree, he is definatley the driving force - brilliant drummer with showmanship - well as much as you can do - he really gets into it.

It would be cool if someone had pictures of some merchandise from this tour. I'm going to the Nottingham gig on Thursday so would like to see some stuff that's on offer before. Dunno why, it just seems like a good idea.

I hope someone's selling bootleg shirts outside, I like that. It's rare that any are sold outside a Nottingham Arena gig from my experience. I saw Depeche Mode last night in Birmingham and there were only a few bootleg shirt sellers. DM were great by the way :)

It sounds like Mazza is enjoying himself onstage which is cool. I hope he's in a funny mood on Thursday. I also hope they do We're From America, it's a shame they didn't do it last night for all you that were there.

The bootleg shirt I saw was terrible. The High End of Low cover with the two blood M's from the Eat Me, Drink Me logo on and Manson's head from a Golden Age of Grotesque era image instead of the 'A' in Marilyn.
Something like that, it was shit.

yeah, I got the bootleg spread eagle shirt as well, I'd post pics but I am busy, so maybe tomorrow, but its basically a the red eagle with the red drip/fang emdm logo in the middle and white double cross instead of read. Then the new MAnsoN logo but with a GAOG face replacing one of the letters, same goes for the logo on the reverse, but it has the helmet/official website photo on the back and on the bottom just says "London Birmingham Manchester Glasgow Nottingham".

Really great time last night - the venue had great sound and seemed just the right place for this tour. The crowd started off rough and one of the highlights for me was being with everyone going crazy over disposable teens (i guess being the first tune to be able to rock out on). From then on, the crowd seemed to calm down a bit but kept a level of good enthusiasm which, as been reported, didn't go unnoticed.

70+ photo's and 20 videos spread around the internet the night after, good going :)

Plus, the new songs sounded awesome live and fitted in well with everything else... the eye-lights during Devour was unexpected (looking at the photo's, reminded me of 'Buffalo Bill' from Silence of the Lambs.) Would have loved to have heard the other songs he's done live from the new album... like WOW & We're From America.

Was great to meet a few forum members after the show too, all rather last minute but still good to say hello and a quick chat.

BTW - did anyone recognise the 2 songs that they played before lights-down? They where louder and stood out more than the others. The first of the two was something about 'i feel like a child' in the lyrics, kinda reminded me of Iggy Pop ... the other reminded me of Johnny Cash, but I've been known to get these kinds of things very wrong in the past so I'm expecting to eat these words later. Still ... anyone in the know?

the eye-lights during Devour was unexpected (looking at the photo's, reminded me of 'Buffalo Bill' from Silence of the Lambs.)
That's a fucking excellent comparison, I'd previously noted a parallel between the goggles and La Jetee in Evidence - Analyses, but as a formerly utilised inspiration in areas of Manson's work, and considering some of the serial killer imagery/thematic employed for The High End Of Low, Jame Gumb is an entirely likely contender for influence.

Given that they are a set of two lights also, and with Manson proclaiming himself like "a big car" in the past, I'd also considered that the goggles were perhaps Manson casting himself as "the headlight, rather than the rabbit, of course.

Would have loved to have heard the other songs he's done live from the new album... like WOW & We're From America.
It's a shame that We're From America has apparently been dropped from the set since the ninth, but I'm really grateful because that was the date I attended, and it's a song I really wanted to see.

BTW - did anyone recognise the 2 songs that they played before lights-down? They where louder and stood out more than the others. The first of the two was something about 'i feel like a child' in the lyrics, kinda reminded me of Iggy Pop
Norsefire clued me in on this one earlier this evening, the song is Feel Just Like A Child by Devendra Banhart, which is notable not only for the similarity to the lyric "feeling like a child and looking like a woman" from EAT ME, DRINK ME, but also because Banhart was featured some time ago in Manson's 'Mobile Photos' album on his MySpace account:-

[center:10ay2ozn]http://c1.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images02/89/l_a371bf71219e40ffbe4b09f9fd36baf8.jpg
"Devandra, or however he decides to spell it. My non-gay boyfriend as of late. This is his comedy."[/center:10ay2ozn]

Here's the video Norsefire showed me. I'm grateful, because I'd have had no idea what it was otherwise, I was so tired for the show in London I could barely even remember what songs were played before they came on! I quite like it:-

I'm pretty sure the song you're talking about is My Shit's Fucked Up by Warren Zevon.

Manson heard it through Californication, but I can see how it relates to his life too in a way, or at least where his life was, and I think it plays during a scene at the Houdini Mansion which is where Holy Wood was recorded and where a lot of Season 2 takes place as Hank Moody goes to live with record producer Lew Ashby:

Well, I went to the doctor
Said, "i'm feeling kind of rough..."
"Let me break it to you son,
your shit's fucked up!"
I said, "My shit's fucked up?!
Well, I don't see how!"
He said, "The shit that used to work,
Well, it won't work now!"

I had a dream; aw shucks, oh well
And its all fucked up, its shot to hell
Yeah, my shit's fucked up
It has to happen to the best of us
The rich folk suffer like the rest of us
It'll happen to you

That amazing grace
Thought it passed you by
You wake up every day
And you start to cry
You want to die
But you just can't quit

Let me break it on down
Its the fucked up shit

The show was amazing. My neck is still aching because of head banging so much. The surport act were okay. The bassist looked like a sour faced Avril Lavgine and the singer was a trying a little too hard to be like manson. (but this is just what I thought)

The set list was pretty amazing. Most the songs he played I had not heard live before. I thought the laser fingers in cruci-fiction were kick ass! now I know why they gassed the stage out with smoke LOL made the effect a lot better. Teens and Swastika were fucking wiked! Jumped about loads with everyone going crazy.

Love song up to 4RHS went so quick because I was having so much fun. I have loved the imagery of they way they play the song live. With the hat and the burning bible and the lights, just everything really looked great.

Devour was beautiful! his face exspressions were very emotional. Loved the head light's! Dried up, tied up and dead to the world was one of the song's I was looking forward to the most, and it owned! Went crazy on that one.

Coma White/ Black was FUCKING GREAT! He did a long scream and my heart raced, hairs stood up and my eyes started to water lol was brilliant.

Vampire was great wasn't exspecting it so early in the set. Dope show was wiked. I think it was this song when MM put his hat on Twiggy lol! It was funny! good to see MM smiling!

So we all remember the pissed off blonde girl lol that was funny as fuck! MM ripped it out of her! Rock is Dead all the way up to TBP was great! I really had a good time. Was very nice and intimate! i would of loved to have met the band but my dad was waiting.

I brought the hoodie with wolf and the shock sign on. £45!!!!!!!!!! plus £1.50 card charge! but it's worth it :) having taken it off and still wearing it now lol. Got some really good pictures

will post a couple here and then give a link to my myspace.

S.D & thereddemon - thanks alot for the heads up on the 2 pre-show music songs.
