Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails fame, who made the transformation to Oscar-winning composer with the score for last yearís The Social Network, is in talks to join Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. A spokesperson for 20th Century Fox confirms that the studio is currently negotiating to lure Reznor aboard, not only to supply the filmís music, but to play Jack Barts, the vampire who kills Lincolnís mother and sets the hero on his path of righteous vengeance.

I'm not taking this too seriously yet but it sure made me chuckle.

Since the studio is trying to "lure" him in, doesn't sound like ANYTHING he's interested in. Hollywood is just going to be chasing after his dick just because he won the Oscar, and they think he'll make their next movie a hit. Thankfully TR is known to only do projects he believes in.

It would be easier to lure Manson into this sheyat. *fuck it; we will just pay to use If I Was Your Vamp."*

You could lure Manson in with a bag of coke on a fishing rod, cartoon-style.

Oh yeah, finally a documentary on the REAL life of Abraham Lincoln! Hooray for historic accuracy!

I completely agree with you, [B]Cringeon/B], and I hope he says no, of course, maybe the movie's going to be a huge hit, in which case he should say yes, so he can start his career as an actor.

People keep complaining Trent shouldn't do this. (Not here, but I've seen it around.)

I don't see what is so wrong about new music from Trent, he won't be a star of the movie or anything. New NIN, HDA, and solo music from Trent.

Color me excited.

I don't think it is the music, but the "context" of which his music is being presented in.

Kinda like how some peeps(me) thought it was mad cheesy and lame that Manson not only contributed Tainted Love to that Teen movie shite, but even starred in a video for it.

Ha, I agree completely.

But Tainted Love turned out awesome, did it not?

I personally think it is one of his worst covers...almost as bad as the Highway to Hell.

I sort of agree there, I think when it comes to covers I stick with I put a spell on you, sweet dreams and personal jesus. Tainted Love, if it was a joke, something not serious... I would like it more, but he takes it seriously as far as I can tell at concerts... but then again he plays Rock n Roll Nigger a lot too so? Hmmm.

Though it is hypocritical of me to like personal jesus since I prefer when he takes on covers by making the music more original, but I just cannot get over how good it is when played live. :)

But Rock n' Roll Nigger rules!
And oh god, I forgot about Personal Jesus...

Don't believe everything you read. As it turns out, I WON'T be working on (acting or scoring) ALVH after all. There's no juicy story here, it's just that when the news mysteriously leaked out about my involvement I hadn't made up my mind completely, because various aspects of the project were changing. I felt the need to say something earlier this week because my inbox was filling up with speculation, and at that moment I thought I would be doing it. Confused yet? Apparently I am.

Bottom line, I wish them the best with the film and I'm sure it will still be great.

Also, in all the excitement of the last note I forgot to mention we're still fully engaged with the Year Zero mini-series, writing away.
