The Blackout and Marilyn Manson, that's so fucking awesome!

02-20-2012, 03:59 PM
I was fearing that would happen. So that means it's less likely for him to announce some UK headline dates for that leg of the tour. Dammit! Have fun though.

They're actually putting this up as his only UK show in 2012. But I really hope they're wrong and I hope MM returns to Europe in the winter for a headlining tour.

02-20-2012, 05:23 PM
How do you know this might be his only UK date for 2012?

02-20-2012, 05:32 PM
Controversial, shocking, provocative; whatever your opinion, there is no doubt about MARILYN MANSON’s ability to entertain and enthral. With the means and know-how to deliver one of the greatest shows in rock’n’roll, and an array of industrial metal anthems such as “Sweet Dreams (Are Made Of This)”, “The Beautiful People”, “The Dope Show”, “Disposable Teens” “mOBSCENE” and many more, MARILYN MANSON’s only UK show of 2012 is not to be missed.

I was reading on the NME news about Sonisphere, where they mentioned the same thing about Evanescence who played Hammersmith Apollo last November (I didn't go to the show, but I know they played there) and on the Sonisphere site it was written that will be the only UK 2012 show for Incubus. I wonder if they meant the only UK date so far?

Anyways, I've already seen Manson live twice. So at least I have those memories. I assume you've seen Manson live before as well.

I will be attending London Film and Comic Con during that weekend on Saturday 7th July, where they announced that Gillian Anderson and Anthony Head will be attending. I'm definitely getting Anthony Head's autograph, since I really admired the Buffy series during my childhood years. So at least I have that event to keep me excited.

I am so in....

Would prefer to see his show not in a festival, but whateves...

Ugh, I would have preferred his own concert so much over this, I've seen him at a festival before and it wasn't all that great. Now I'll probably have to drag a not-very-interested person with me. Hmm. Also, the other bands I like are playing on different days than Manson. Not sure about this; decisions, decisions.

Tickets are now on sale - http://sonisphere.co.uk/buy-tickets/

I've got my tickets! But festivals are so fucking expensive. :(

That is why I never go to festivals and it's a lot more expensive when you have to consider travel costs.

Well for me travelling it's roughly about the same for when I see Manson at his own headlining tour anyway. It's just the fact I could see 2 or maybe 3 headlining shows for the same price as a day ticket at Sonisphere.

@Norse Will you be camping the whole weekend or are you just going for the day?

02-24-2012, 02:08 PM
I'm just going for the day. Did think about doing the whole weekend but wasn't too bothered about bands playing on the Fri/Sat.

BTW Marilyn Manson got a tiny mention in the announcements for Sonisphere in Kerrang! they included a pic with it as well.

Also on the very back of this page there's a Motionless in White interview where they talk about Marilyn Manson. I've posted that in a thread here: [http://www.providermodule.com/forum/showthread.php/3907-Motionless-In-White-Interview-in-Kerrang!?p=95863#post95863]

Just booked my tickets for this. I'm going to be there the whole weekend, looks like a great line up so far!

03-28-2012, 12:58 PM
Well it seems official...Sonisphere is now cancelled. Such a shame and unexpected!

I was looking to buy my ticket around these days - but I found the same info on ticketmaster.

What hapenned? Is the Manson show really hapenning, or not at all?

03-29-2012, 05:28 PM
With Sonisphere cancelled there is currently no UK date for 2012 until something else is announced.

03-29-2012, 05:40 PM
I was discussing this with a girl I like on Facebook, where she mentioned that she doubts Manson will announce a headline date unless he plays Download instead. Although, I read somewhere that Download doesn't want him back and a lot of the huge acts have already been taken for Friday-Sunday. So I can't see Manson being added to the line up.

I'm hoping he announces a date at either Brixton Academy or Hammersmith Apollo.

03-29-2012, 05:55 PM
Since it was more of a one-off date, I'd imagine he'll wait until he's doing his actual headlining run in the UK. Shows are booked so far out in advance that chances are he's already planning out what the later UK headlining run will be. Bummer the show got canceled though.

I was hoping for at least one headline UK date during the summer. Pretty awkward if he misses the UK during the European festival leg, all because Sonisphere got cancelled.

Europe is about the size of the US, right? I say you UK bastards man up and do some traveling!

03-31-2012, 06:45 AM
^ I would have liked to travel to the Paris show, since I'll be on my summer holidays by then.

Although, I would struggle going there alone since I don't speak fluent French. However, my mum is fluent in the language but she said that she wouldn't travel till there all for that show because I would need her help in translating French to English.

I'm sure that the tickets for Paris are sold out by now. So I have no other choice but to wait till he comes to London.

When I clicked, I was almost sure it's an April Fools day joke! Am I naive to hope he'll have a real concert here now that the festival date is cancelled?

Seriously, guys, I moved from the depths of Eastern Europe to the UK hoping my country will never get ignored by my favourite artists ever again! Hmmph.
