In the not too distant future, way down in Deep 13...

From 1988 through 1999, there was this awesome little show some of you may remember called "Mystery Science Theater 3000". Now, for those of you who haven't seen this low budget masterpiece of hilarity, it's basically a guy and his two robots cracking jokes over horrible horrible movies. Here's a sample:

Now it's recently come to my attention that I'm not alone here in my obsession with this show. We're like cockroaches, hiding in dark places, scattering whenever someone shines light on us. Come on MTS3K fans, let's take a moment to discuss Pearl vs Dr Forrester, Mike vs Joel, Servo vs Crow (with one o), post some of your favorite episodes, whatever. Just whore the hell out of MTS3K:

To start things off right, here's an episode starring Charlie Sheen's uncle. Here's Joe Estevez in: Soultaker!!!

These are my favorites as well. The Incredible Melting Man is good too. And Space Mutiny. I think it's called Space Mutiny.

Yeah, it's called Space Mutiny:

Best part is when Crow is dressed like one of the alien chicks.

This show is the reason why I alienate my friends by saying "Rowsdower" and laughing to myself

Tonight's film is especially cheesy. You'll love it (all two of you)

Hehe.

This Island Earth was the first MST3K I watched and I think that maybe set the bar a little high. I bought a couple of the DVD sets and wasn't aware of the change of hosts, Joel and Mike. I'm not a big fan of the Joel episodes because he is way too droll for me, I can barely get halfway into any of the episodes with him in it.

I used to watch these a lot when I was a stoner and thought they were really funny, but watching them on Youtube now I think it's kinda hit and miss. However, I do really enjoy the shorts they show before the movies.

BTW, this thread was a really good idea! :D

Tonight's lovely hunk of cheese comes from the author of Psycho.

You're absolutely right though LLama. The Joel era episodes are more difficult to watch, but Tom and Crow save them.

I actually enjoyed the film in this next episode, but I'm a sucker for giant monster movies:

The cast of MST3K are still doing this under the name RiffTrax. August 16 they are bringing one of the most classic riffs to theaters: Manos, The Hands of Fate. Full list of participating theaters:

I'm watching through the entire series atm, have yet to see that one! Sounds like a real cheese-fest.

In honor of the upcoming Zombie/Manson co head lining tour, I give you the film Zombie took the name for his second solo album from: The Sinister Urge!

And a bonus, the short from this suck fest features the robot from Dragula:
