View Full Version : Experiment

I've been messing around lately with some new mediums and ideas. Last night it was crayons and a hair dryer.

This was the first experiment, just to see what happens and how the wax moves, and how the crayons melt.

This is still a work in progress, I need to find a black paint somewhere to darken the figures.

This is really good, makes me want to have a go at it. Never seen or heard of doing this before.

Thank you guys! I actually stumbled across a video of a guy doing it while looking for a song, and I thought it looked so cool that I -had- to try it. Also, if you've got the time, energy, and crayons, totally do it, it's so much fun, and it looks pretty no matter what colours you use. I'd suggest staying away from RoseArt though. They're more difficult and watery to work with than Crayola.

Those are looking really cool, twiggysrabies !! I haven't seen a lot of that type of art (actually, I'm at a sleepover right now and the room I'm staying in has my friend's sister piece done like that, but all blues/greens/purples) and I've never seen someone incorporate a drawing into it. That's really creative I think :)) Makes me want to experiment myself! (can't wait for cheap back-to-school supplies in the coming month!!:))

I really like the first one's colors, too. Can't wait to see what other stuff you come up with :))

New experiment. India inks on canvas. Made using only an eye dropper and the inks. I also forgot for a minute that red and green makes purple, whilst also using a purple ink, so there is quite a bit more purple than I expected, I'm quite chuffed with it though.
