Discuss and share punk music here, I'm interested to see what people are into and get some discussion going.
This thread isn't for debating what constitutes 'real punk', if you want to discuss hardcore, pop punk, ska punk, emo and whatever else, feel free to do so.

I like a long list of stuff which I'll probably post more of at some point or another, but I'll start with some favourites and stuff I'm listening to right now.

One of my favourite bands is Alkaline Trio, in my opinion they have consistently awesome lyrics and not one bad song. They've also served as a gateway for me to learn about a load of other really cool music I wouldn't otherwise have heard. Most people have heard stuff like Stupid Kid and This Addiction, but here's the first track from their first album.

The Lawrence Arms are a great band, too. A lot of cool, drinking music. I went to a show a couple of weeks back, the bassist from Alkaline Trio and the bassist from The Lawrence Arms playing solo acoustic stuff, and it was one of the best gigs I've ever been to, intimate venue (100 capacity) and a great atmosphere.

The final band I'll post for now is Hot Water Music. Great band, I've always liked their passionate vocals and often intricate music. This song was on Tony Hawks Underground, great video game, amazing soundtrack.

There's some really cool stuff in here. Of what I hadn't heard before, I really liked the first two videos Sans posted, with the acoustic stuff. That definitely appealed to my tastes pretty well, and I'll probably try and look up those bands further, do you have any suggestions of what else to listen to by them?

And yes, Cringeon! The Shape of Punk to Come is an incredible record, pleased to see someone post about it.

My favourite new band is Joyce Manor, their new album, Of All Things I Will Soon Grow Tired is probably my favourite of 2012 so far, and I borrowed the cover art for my new sig/avatar.

Anyone like Gallows? A few weeks back they released a track off their new album, with their new singer, and I think it's really fucking cool

Not Mechanical, look up "Burn the Earth! Leave it Behind" by Wingnut Dishwasher's Union and "Live the Dream" by Ramshackle Glory.

I need some recommendations. I'm not really into punk music, but I'm interested in expanding my tastes within the general 'punk rock' field of music. I listen to a lot of goth rock, deathrock, post-punk etc. but I've probably explored these genres well enough already.

I have to be honest, I don't really care much for the standard/formulaic punk beat as I would prefer something with more variety, song-length, and emotion to it, maybe some darker or melancholic. Maybe like AFI's Decemberunderground or Sing the Sorrow?
