I'm going for sure. This will be the second time I've seen Manson on Halloween in Dallas. I'm so excited! though not too excited about driving from Dallas to Grand Prairie. I wish this were at Gexa, formerly Smirnoff Music Center, formerly Starplex) September 14th is cutting close for ticket sales. I wonder if its because 97.1 KEGL is picking up this show for their Freakers Ball.

Officially got my ticket for this show, rape fees seemed worse than ticketmaster and I could have gotten an E-ticket but fuck it, I wanted a real ticket so the extra $5 was a requirement. I also got a seated ticket because I wanna just enjoy the show and not deal with any idiots!

So, who else got their tickets?

Yeah, it was superawesome of the shitty little ticket vendor to list THE WRONG FUCKING ONSALE TIME ZONE so even though I got up early I still couldn't get the tickets I wanted to pretty much the most important show of the tour.

Hooray for idiotic ticket vendor fuck-ups.

I just kept refreshing the page. Sometime twenty minutes later, it worked and I got my pit ticket. Did the pit sell out already? Cause I literally bought mine after your post time Haz.

theoneandonlygoldentickets.com didnt have the early access/ m&g bundle for the show listed, but I'm sure in time they will. I just noticed they're offering bundles for the reserved seating sections for some of the other tourdates aswell.

It was indeed the first time he played Murders! I came a little before rushing the stage. After seeing him in LA, I always thought his shows in Dallas were better. Maybe its the crowd ... who knows. Hazekiah
10-27-2012, 10:38 PM
I sure would be! But, sadly, no, there isn't. I've made regular use of their Discovery Passes over the last several years (SIX HUNDRED BUCKS A POP, ffs!) but they are now offically cancelled "for your convenience" since they're switching to reserved seating instead of a first-come-first-served/maybe-catch-the-NEXT-bus basis rather than offering a similar lump-sum-for-unlimited-travel-for-specified-lengths-of-time option in its absence instead. I heartily encourage anyone who's enjoyed my bootlegs to join my protest and let Greyhound know how stupid this is on their fb wall since at least HALF my vidz have been made possible exclusively through THAT deal alone. DISSSSSAPPROOOOOVALLLL. :'(

AssetReign
10-27-2012, 10:46 PM
^ I haven't been on a Greyhound bus for years but I will definitely boycott now. Have you thought about trains? Or is that too much hassle?

Tigger
10-27-2012, 10:47 PM
Well, I'm busing from Toronto to NYC via greyhound. Then was supposed to hop on megabus to DC but that shit is cancelled. And NYC seems to be bracing for the worst. I am alternatively looking at getting refunds then getting a greyhound ticket to memphis, then using my remaining megabus ticket to arrive in Dallas Halloween day...as planned.

I shall see. Was supposed to leave my town via train in 6 hours, not happening now. If I can, I will leave monday at 2:30, arrive memphis a bout a day later on tuesday sometime. :o

AssetReign
10-27-2012, 10:55 PM

Good luck, Tigger! I hope you can find a way to the show.

Hazekiah
10-27-2012, 11:08 PM
Meh, the weather was GORGEOUS when I left NYC a coupla hours ago. If teh Tiggz can catch the 3:45 am GH departure or even the next one after that then they should be good for Little Rock let alone Dallas 2 days later...I hope you'll investigate that option despite additional last-minute-ticket expenses. Maybe we could share a (m/h)otel to ease your burden? Anything beats missing the best Halloween EVAR, right? Oh, and Amtrak rents rail access from freight-shipping lines so they get cut-off all the time & cost a fortune despite their chronic lateness, so it's not really a viable option in ANY way, unfortunately. Believe me, I'm ALL over it! Can't WAIT for MegaBus to drive GH outta business & take over all their stations & service routes, I swear. Annnnny day now... -_-

Tigger
10-27-2012, 11:12 PM
Well, I'm still 12 hours from NYC. xD

So, my best bet is taking bus from here to London ON then switching buses to detroit, then boom to memphis and arrive there on 30th! It will cost about $180 more but it beats the shit out of a) missing MM in Halloween, in Dallas and b) losing out on tickets/shit I already paid for!

Hazekiah
10-27-2012, 11:30 PM
Haha, times like those are generally when I regret not paying the extra 10 bucks for the "ticket insurance" TicketBastard offers now. But WHO could foresee an Act of God forestalling anyone's progress towards attending a Marilyn Manson concert on Walpurgisnacht, LOLWATN/M. >;)

Tigger
10-28-2012, 12:31 PM
Greyhound are cunts. They expected me to basically go to NYC and get stranded there since my Toronto to NYC wasn't cancelled, they were basically like "nothing we can do" when all I wanted to do was exchange or get credit or whatever towards a ticket I am pretty much now forced to buy from here to Memphis.

Fucking horrid that I am forced to use greyhound, again. Goddamn them.

The closer this one gets, the more I wish I could have been able to attend. People from all around are asking if I'm going to be there and it's disheartening to continue having to say no. Quite a few of them are folks I've been wanting to meet for a very long time, making this whole situation suck even worse. The show is so close I can smell it day in and day out, yet it's right outside my grasp.

I guess there's always next time; whenever that is.

^Meh, none of the conventional holiday stuff bums me as much as missing out on all the friends in attendance and that specific feeling of a Marilyn Manson concert. Sure the show is decent for what it is, and there's probably going to be some gems for Halloween, but that simply doesn't do much for me by itself. I crave that collective adrenaline flow from the masses, and that pulse of feral chaos from my heart. The rest is insignificant.

Here's some photos and words on the show:

1)http://www.pegasusnews.com/news/2012/nov/01/photos-marilyn-manson-rob-zombie-verizon-dallas/

Exploding balls of fire, giant robots, knives, and skeletons transformed Verizon Theatre into the biggest and creepiest Halloween bash in town, with a little help from Rob Zombie and Marilyn Manson. The twisted “Twins of Evil” co-headlining tour brought together these two sinister rockers for a go-big-or-go-home show that could terrify any trick-or-treater. The obvious pairing of these two masters of horror had never been executed until now.

With the recent headlines of discord between the two singers – Manson accused Zombie of cutting his set short two weeks ago – we kept our ears open for any profanity or threats directed at one another, but the only violent lines we heard were in their songs. Korn’s Jonathan Davis, under the DJ name J Devil, was the opening act until about a month ago when he quit for medical reasons. Slipknot’s Sid Wilson (DJ Starscream) has since filled in for Davis; he opened the Grand Prairie show.

Marilyn Manson didn’t hold back during his 60-minute set, with a different outfit and backdrop for every song. A morose cemetery scene christened by his signature use of the Cross of Lorraine materialized in songs like “Disposable Teens” and “Hey, Cruel World.” Shock value is key for Manson: In between roaring screams and outfit changes, he tore through anything in his way and manipulated props for pleasure. Early on, he picked up his beer by stabbing the can with a giant knife secured to his mic and continued to spew it from his mouth, over the crowd. A red head-to-toe Bishop ensemble and a feathery black top showcased his gothic glam style, transforming the set into an alternative version of a Lady Gaga show.

With little crowd interaction (no surprise here), Manson made his way through mega-hits like “The Dope Show” and “The Beautiful People” with good vocals and a creeping, evil tone. Despite his nonstop antics and showboat wardrobe, Manson brought depth and artistry to his live performance without missing a word. He growled the lines of his famous cover, “Sweet Dreams (Are Made Of This),” underneath a looming interrogation lamp and a black cloth covering his face. It felt more like an eerie music video set than a packed venue. His flippant, defiant attitude is what has gotten him this far, and it’s what continues to fuel his almost 20-year career.

Rob Zombie, an entirely different beast fueled by violence and gore, stuck to his cinematographic style during his 75-minute headlining spot. Massive screens flooded the giant stage with classic horror film clips and scenes from his own Hollywood hits, House of 1,000 Corpses and Halloween. The famous horror film director has shown he hasn’t forgotten that his roots lie in hard rock by continuing to put out records in between movie releases, and the same goes for his live performance. Zombie’s dreadlocked head was right where it should be on Wednesday night – banging away to songs that scale his lengthy career, including tracks like “Thunder Kiss ‘65” from his days with White Zombie.

Fiery torches pulsed through his early rendition of “Living Dead Girl” with clips of his favorite starlet and wife Sheri Moon flashing by. Throughout the night, Zombie’s band held their own with gut-punching riffs and droning drum solos that could put you in a devilish trance. A 10-foot tall robot, devil, and an evil pumpkin man periodically marched behind the band while Zombie came out on his own giant robot for “Mars Needs Women.” Yes, he had a set full of doom and gloom that was built to impress, but it didn't overshadow the music.

The sinister front man excitedly talked about the holiday and dressed up in two costumes: a dark, hooded robe; and a Texas Rangers jersey inscribed with “Zombie.” What looked like Moon (though he never introduced her) came out in a nerd costume to overwhelming shrieks from the crowd. In predictable and shameless fashion, Zombie plugged his newest film, Lords of Salem, before his raging encore of “Dragula.” The crazed audience couldn’t get enough of him.

2) http://blogs.dallasobserver.com/dc9/2012/11/rob_zombie_and_marilyn_manson.php

The "Twins of Evil" tour was the perfect Halloween gift from the Great Pumpkin, who also made an appearance during Rob Zombie's performance. In fact, several infamous people were wandering through the crowd at the Verizon Theatre: Scarecrow and the Witch from the Wizard of Oz, more than a dozen Satans, Freddy Krueger, zombie leprechauns, a nest of Playboy Bunnies trying to get the crowd drunk and Jesus with bats and skulls hanging from his crown of thorns.

Marilyn Manson opened the show, screaming and howling through several songs as if Zombie's werewolf drummer were nipping at his heels to hurry up and get the hell off the stage so the master of horror could get this Halloween party started.

Manson didn't seem to care that the house wasn't full during his set. His contempt for everyone and everything played through each of his songs, from upside-down American flags and Hitler-style costumes to his over-the-top rock ego and obsession with wiping his ass. When Manson finally left his new material behind and played more familiar stuff, the fans became a little more lively, until he wasted a gram of cocaine during his "Dope Show" performance by pouring it on the stage instead of sharing it. Several overzealous fans jumped the railing and charged the stage like zombies from Shaun of the Dead, only to be averted by the red shirts.

Manson growled through a few covers, including Depeche Mode's "Personal Jesus" and the Eurythmics' "Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)," but he sounded like a few sprinkles of dust found their way up his nose, because congestion made his words indecipherable.

Then Zombie took the stage and rocked the fucking house. Flames. Robots. Flames. Skeletons. Flames. Nude women. Flames. A giant Devil. Flames. The Great Pumpkin. Flames. Gumby and Pokey. It was as if the crowd had somehow entered a delightfully evil version of Tim Burton's Halloween Town. The Munsters were there, as well as Frankenstein, Jack Nicholson, the Devil's Rejects and Paul Fuckin' Stanley.

When Zombie stepped out of that giant flaming robot at the beginning of the show and John 5 ignited his guitar, the crowd went wild, singing all of his lyrics and pumping their fists in the air. "Jesus Frankenstein" set the mood for the Halloween evening, and "Mars Needs Women" and "Pussy Liquor" had the coke addicts convulsing on the floor and the rest of the fans screaming for more.

"Thunder Kiss '65," "More Human Than Human" and "Living Dead Girl" were crowd pleasers, and the skeletal robots, glowing pumpkins and skeletons wrapped around mics just added to the vibe. Zombie proved himself to be the Metal Frank Zappa with his animated clips from Go Nagai anime and It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown, and kept up his intense energy. At one point, John 5 took center stage and blazed through a grueling guitar solo while Zombie rushed through the crowd, slapping hands with fans and looking my daughter in the eye ("Dad, he looked at me.").

Zombie was not only celebrating Halloween with fans but also his wedding anniversary. When his wife, Sheri Moon Zombie, dressed as a nerd, came out on stage to help him get the crowd chanting for "Sick Bubble Gum," the fans roared their approval. For an encore, we were shown a trailer for Zombie's upcoming supernatural thriller, The Lords of Salem, and then horror maestro took center stage and closed this most memorable Halloween with "Dragula."

The "Twins of Evil" tour is headed to Europe next, but Manson may need to take some pointers from Zombie on Fan Etiquette 101, if the self-proclaimed Dope Christ Superstar wants to reach Zombie's status.

^ Haha, yeah...they're pretty hilarious! One of my favorites was in Little Rock when Manson was writhing on the riser beneath a crawling-text marquee and doing splits in the air with his legs RIGHT as the sign suddenly said "THE CLOWN HAS NO PENIS," lol. I also like that the crew production callsheets specifically refer to them as the "NASDAQ Scrolling Signs." Between Manson's increased politicization of his Twins of Evil setpieces & staging and the current financial woes of America mixed with the references to The Great Depression & The Information Age in the lyrics to "mOBSCENE," I think it's pretty cool that there's such a subtle little allusion to the NASDAQ stock market index hidden in plain sight onstage. Also, considering they're used for the ONE song in the set from The Golden Age of Grotesque it's awesome that the text randomly dissolves into rising theater curtains and ballooning spades! Nicely representative of the rest of the album and well-chosen effects. Nice to see that they added "Happy Halloween" to the crawl at this show, too.

Okay, I'll shut up about the NASDAQ signs now, lol. :P

Such a great fucking night...

I went into this show for Manson and just thought Rob Zombie would be a cool bonus but HOLY FUCKING SHIT...
Manson was great but this was my first time seeing Zombie and it was a REVELATION.
It was the best performance I've ever seen.

The enthusiasm, energy, theatricality, showmanship, musicianship, fun atmosphere, puppetry, robotics, camaraderie on stage, EVERYTHING was UN-FUCKING-MATCHED!!!!!

I've always liked Rob Zombie, but he's never been one of my favorites.
This show changed that.

I'm pretty much just as excited to see Rob Zombie the next time they come around as I am Manson. (and I say "they" because it really did seem like Rob treats them like a band unit or a family, you could really sense the camaraderie these guys have)

So yeah, add another to the Rob Zombie bandwagon. lol

Best. Halloween. Ever.

Yes, those were the venue cameras used for the the projection screens for the folks in the cheap seats. Manson even grabbed one himself for a homemade close-up and fucked it for a bit, although the control booth guy sadly cut to a completely different angle, sadly.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FclB0dsVLHw&feature=channel&list=UL

The video feed skips around from the middle to the end on this one, but the sound plays straight through and the band sounds pretty killer. A good example of why I enjoy Twiggy on guitar and Jason on drums. Manson is always funny to watch.

Coma White is really missing a live keyboardist. Compare the below Halloween performance to a 2008 Austin performance (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qRvls87QrRI). The differences between them is like night and day. (Jeeezus, 2008 RoTW was sooo fucking GOOD! *orgasms everywhere*)

Man, there's a LOT of great video from this show!

Personally, I'm thinking we could put together a REALLY nice fan-made multi-angle live DVD of this one particular show someday...you know, once all the footage gets posted eventually.

Probably had a sound problem, notice how he is making signals.

Yeah, the way he's signalling off to the sides of the stage like that generally indicates issues with a singer's onstage monitor feed...which would help explain the flubbed lyric at the start and make a LOT of sense considering he's JUST switched from his megaphone-mic back to his regular mic. With the way he's signalling to "cut it out" or whatever I'd imagine that when they switched mic feeds he was probably bombarded with noise from the mix being WAY too high in his monitors, which in turn threw him off a bit.

That said, it's possible everything was fine with the mix and he was just pissed about something else or possibly just getting his blood up for the requisite furor a song like "Antichrist Superstar" demands.

Either way, GREAT show!

This is what I was figuring until hearing the flubbed line. He reacts differently after catching the fuck up.

Thanks for the videos! Worth noting, the keyboards are the same as they were during the Rape tour, Vrenna just put exactly what he played live on a backing track - it's just not triggered off by a keyboardist. Same sound sets though.

Terrapin
11-05-2012, 05:50 PM
Sure sounds different to me when comparing the vids. There's a deviation in the rhythm and tone/effect from what I can tell. It's not a big variable, but it's still audible.

The presence of someone behind the keys makes a difference, in general. It's not a huge deal alone, but with songs that have a dominant keyboard part, you immediately get taken out of the show with just a backtrack. That's been my biggest complaint with Coma White on the setlists. They could play a backtrack for Great Big White World, but it wouldn't be nearly the same as having a live keyboardist up there.

Cringeon
11-05-2012, 06:07 PM
Agreed, even little things like lighting cues to highlight the keyboardist during a synth lead is something you just don't get with the backing track. Thankfully, the backing tracks were made up the same as Vrenna had been playing them (probably just the audience recording makes them sound quiet, you can hear them better in this video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=10-nMdx9_GA) from tampa) but I think it's still weird getting use to the lineup sans keyboardist after all these years. There's really not an abundance of musicians the likes of Pogo or Vrenna to get a touring member like guitar/bass/drums.

Scorpion

Thanks a lot for these! My freaking god, it's all so good.

Hazekiah
11-05-2012, 08:19 PM
Pogo and Vrenna both UNQUESTIONABLY did more than simply trigger prerecorded synths. And whatever they didn't actually play live was almost always manipulated live as it played back to make each performance unique.

And let's not forget each keyboardist's duties as secondary drummer!

For a "big beat" band like Marilyn Manson a real live keyboardist who occasionally beefs up the drums is worth their weight in GOLD.

Pretty sure there's some damned fine audio which has yet to surface from this show, btw.

^I don't know why you insist on that huge font thing you do, but cool shots. I know these are teasers, so looking forward to more.

Btw, It's still doing that right-sided panning thing discussed in the other thread. The left-side is completely muffled out.

Likewise, I don't know why some people insist on even mentioning "that huge font thing" I do, but thanks for the the feedback.

I'd think it's fairly obvious that I just like keeping my posts neat and tidy and presented clearly, and that includes the formatting of the post as well as its actual content, of course. I've been trolled pretty hard for it on another message board before and I just don't see how it's such a bother. To my eyes and mind, there's just something very pleasing about an embedded video being centered in the middle of a page above a centered signature image and below a centered bit of "headline" information which is boldfaced and presented in a larger font to catch the casual viewer's eye and to indicate quickly and effectively exactly what's being presented below.

As stylistic choices go, it's a rational, sensible, well-considered and well-intentioned approach at least, I'd say.

Pretty sure there's some damned fine audio which has yet to surface from this show, btw.

So...as Terrapin reiterated and Dorothy helpfully pointed out elsewhere (http://www.providermodule.com/forum/showthread.php/4634-x16-Oct-19-2012-Susquehanna-Bank-Center-Camden-New-Jersey-USA?p=136277&viewfull=1#post136277), it turns out that there IS some kind of technical difficulty with the audio in some of my most recent recordings. While some people just hear a bit of muddiness in an otherwise perfectly listenable Left Speaker Channel of my stereo audio for the videos, others are reporting that there's basically NO Left Speaker Channel whatsoever.

I've done some troubleshooting and it doesn't seem to be a problem with the RCA camcorder outputs, the DVD burner inputs or settings, or the DVD ripping/uploading process, so I'm pretty much left to conclude that my stereo mic's Left Channel got screwed up somewhere along the way throughout my many wayward travels in the past month. Hard to believe considering the plush luxuries and relaxed comforts of a million Greyhound buses and mosh pits, lol.

But anyway...another one bites the dust! Thankfully, the audio it DID capture for the last few shows I filmed before my mic (half-) broke is still eminently listenable. At some point I'll go back and just scrap the left channel and double the right to make it a better mono recording or something but in the meantime I hope it doesn't detract from the listening experience too much. It IS all about the music, after all! Just crank your speakers or tweak your balance or do whatever you've gotta do and ROCK THE FUCK OUT, right?

Figured I'd mention it because I have been curious about it in the past. Now that I have an answer, I can see a little more of where you're coming from. I agree with centering everything and labeling it with a heading to look nice and orderly, but find it humorous to be going through a thread and come upon this "OMG LOOK HERE GUYS! CHECK IT OUT! \m/-_-\m/" thing that doesn't make much stylistic sense to me. I've always written it off as just a Hazekiah thing, but figured I'd throw it out there anyway to get your approach. Nice to have more of an idea now. I don't want to make the thread about something so inane, so I'll chalk it up as a differing preferences and me spending too much time online lately.

Nice tip for counteracting that channel-effect in the meantime. A shame the mic is half-broken. As usual, thanks for the work you put into these.

I know I'm pretty fucking late here but a lot of shit happened in the days following this concert so I really am only able to get back online long enough to reply, now. The show was amazing. Slo-Mo-Tion and MM playing guitar on it was the huge highlight for me, it was absolutely filthy. Amazing. I think that song fits fucking perfectly. Rob Zombie was great to experience, for sure. My camera died as he came out so I really only got a few pictures. It just left a sour taste in my mouth as he made that remark about how there is no curfew so they could do whatever the fuck they wanted tonight.

Meeting MM and Twiggy was fucking epic. Man, I arrived to the venue from the airport with my luggage in toe and the venue was cool enough to allow me to lock my shit up in their security room. Needless to say, I had very little sleep the 2 days prior but as soon as it was my turn to enter that dark room to meet them, I woke the fuck up. I told Manson how I planned to bus but the "hurricane fucked my plans" and MM then went right into "it fucked you? did it make you say sir or ma'am?" I told him it was my 13th show, he shook my hand and thanked me for coming to all those shows. He asked my name, I said "Dan" and he was like "hurricane dan! No wait, I am re-naming you hurricane dandy! Boom" So, he signed my artbook as "to hurricane dandy..." xD He also thought it was really cool I had the artbook and thanked me for that. Poor Twiggy, I didn't mean to totally ignore him but MM was talking so much it was hard to turn to Twiggy and say anything really. I then told MM I had a little something for him, just something funny. He put his hands out like a little kid and said "is it drugs? Is it candy? Is it drugs that taste like candy?" When I handed him a little Tigger figure, he loved it! He put it into the light so he could see it and was like "tigga!" then I gave Twiggy his and they put them together going "tigguhhh! tigguh!" I forget what I said to Twiggy but he was like "cool" and thanked me for coming out.

It wasn't rushed at all, it was great. Then back in line waiting for pics and when I went back up, MM was like "its hurricane dandy!" Then he was like "this is the guy that comes to all the shows!" Which I was thinking...I haven't been to that many. I told him it was my 13th 'cause it was and because the whole unlucky factor. Anyway, we were taking the pics and MM just talks the whole time so its hard to concentrate. He's one funny bastard. I was talking to him after the pics, he shook my hand a few more times. Then, I said "you should do more shows...just less with Zombie" and he was like "YES!! YES! YES!! I love how you said that, BOOM! I will of course. I agree!" I was like "see, I said it and you just agreed so you can't get in trouble." And he was like "yes, I will definitely be doing that." then he shook my hand a few more times because he liked what I said, then I was on my way.

BTW.,

Did anyone else see the new double cross MM hat? Manson has all his ring crew wearing them. Anyway, I went up to the merch booth right when I got there, saw the hat, bought it immediately. The merch guy was like "I think this is the only one" but then he found a medium, so I bought that. I bring it up now because after the show, after meeting MM, one of his crew members...Ryan I think? He was like "hey dude, where did you get that hat from?" And I said I bought it at merch and he's like "shit, they are sellling them? They're not supposed to be...at least I don't think they are. Thanks, I'll look into that."

So, does anyone know if they are still selling the hats? Would be cool if it was some sort of mistake. Its a sweet military hat and says "Marilyn Manson" on the back.

=)

Ha sounds like an kickass experience, Tigger. This was a great read. Glad you had a blast. This is the first time I've heard about these helmets, so hopefully you came away with a rarity. Show pics, please. Thanks for sharing.

^ They're not helmets, just military-style caps similar to the ones NIN and Manson have sold in the past. If you look closely, he's talking about the exact same caps worn by crewmembers standing beside the podium during "Antichrist Superstar," if that helps.

And, no, I haven't seen those sold at any of the Twins of Evil shows yet, btw. Ryan's on top of that stuff so it was probably just a mix-up between the freight boxes for the shipping of band merch. and crew wardrobe since both sets are made by Bravado, I believe. Teh Tiggz = LUCKY!!!

Speaking of which, it was awesome to see you again, Tigger...be it ever so briefly. Sorry I didn't get to socialize more but between negotiating various tiers of security, affixing my mask, and distributing PM flyers I was pretty damned busy during the GT line-up, lol.

Well, YEAH. If you put it in quotation marks it just looks silly...far be it from ME to do such a thing!

;)

Also, if anyone's got a BURNING desire to hear my videos-with-imbalanced-audio in headphones then it might also be worth buying a stereo-to-mono headphone jack adapter at Radio Shack or wherever to make it a less annoying experience.

They're just a buck or two and look like this:

http://rsk.imageg.net/graphics/product_images/pRS1C-2160378w345.jpg

It's the single black band at the tip which indicates MONO output (as opposed to two bands for stereo) and it pretty much solves everything. I'll try and get things sorted by duping the Right Channel in place of the so-so Left Channel eventually, but in the meantime it's a cheap and easy solution for anyone who cares to bother with it.

Plus, they're just handy to have around the house anyway if you're an audiophile and/or gearhead.

:)
