Bought a ticket immediately this time. ;) Curious to see Rob Zombie, couldn't attend last time and it was 10 years ago he was here before that.

I be attending, although I still do have to figure out how I am going to handle things travelling-wise.
Also I really do wish I had a VIP package, but unfortunately not everybody has a lot of money on their hands.

Public transportation is terrible, most trains go till around 12 o'clock. How are you going to manage to get home?

I'm just wondering because I'm still thinking of what to do myself ;)

I booked a hotel room about 2km from it.

EDIT: I got by car btw.

Do you have a vip ticket too, or just regular? I was a little worried about it myself at first, but I think you'll be fine if you just got regular tickets. At least, that's what I managed to convince myself of when I still thought I had to catch a train back home. (I've got a ride now...)

Anyway, I'm excited damn it!

Well, by the time I found out that the M&G is in the afternoon the VIP tickets were sold out :/ Guess I shouldn't have hesitated so long..

I'd say getting a train home around 11/12 o'clock won't be a problem, it wasn't the last time he was in Amsterdam.

^ Manson is the first on stage and then Zombie closes for all the Twins of Evil shows.

Para-Noir

Manson will play around 8 right?

Emma
12-03-2012, 04:39 AM
^ In the UK the schedule was Manson on at 8 and then off at about 9:10pm then a break to set change and Zombie on at about 9:30/9:40

So it's possibly the same kind of schedule for the rest of the shows.

Komakino

Ticket says doors open at 18:30, start at 19:00. But I have a test tomorrow so prefer being there like 1 minute before Manson starts, haha..

I'm there as well. This will be my fourth Manson show, and my second Rob Zombie show. I suspect most people will be wearing a MM shirt, and just for that I will be wearing my Rob Zombie tourshirt I got at Paradiso in 2011 ;-)

Also I have to bring my bag inside, because I want to buy two shirts there. So there.

Great show (very short though), no setlist changes

Edit: I've been to AAG and THEOL tour and this was by far the best one. Best theatrics since Mechanical Animals in my opinion, Manson sounded great, Twiggy raped the guitar exactly the way he should and the drums and bass sounded awesome. Youtube vids give no impression of the sound at all. Still, it's a shame you pay €40 for a one-hour show. Worth it though.

The crowd was a fucking bore, it seemed like 90% of the people came to see Rob Zombie. I had the feeling the band had that impression too. Nevertheless, nothing wrong with the performance if you ask me.

I'm not familiar with RZ's music, but he put on a nice show. Nothing too impressive, just some big screens and some big monster/robot thingies or whatever. The only reason I stayed was to see J5 and Ginger's solos.
I do have to say RZ's set was maybe a little more interesting (musically better IMO) because of the balance between solos, instrumentals, interaction with the crowd and the songs. Manson's set was more like listening to a best of cd with some talking between songs.

Damn it, you people better tell me you did all scream your lungs out for Manson!
I was, and still am, kind of scared he was so underwhelmed by the audience he left the stage early. I mean, even though the show already would have been really short, and felt that way, Twiggy kind of seemed like he didn't know what was going on immediately when Manson threw his mic on the ground, walked off the stage, and didn't come back.

Anyway, except for the audience, I loved the show. I loved all the theatrics and costume changes. It was really nice to witness that, as I had only been to The High End of Low tour before which was quite stripped down. I very much enjoyed seeing Twiggy in a sorta dress. I liked that they performed The Dope Show with the 'DRUGS'-sign in the back, because it's classic. And the combination of the fake snow along with Coma White nearly had me crying.
I myself couldn't really judge what the music sounded like, as I was totally overwhelmed by the volume (I stood really close to the speakers). My boyfriend however, for whom it was the first time on top of being only a mild 'fan', was crazy with excitement about how good they sounded. So I take it they did. :P
Oh, one little thing about Manson that I didn't like: His in-between talks. They bored me, because it was all about the name of the city and the fact that you can get some drugs legally in our country.

The wait for Zombie's show to start seemed to take forever and I was starting to get sore which didn't help much either. (Not that the wait for Manson's show with that horribly boring DJ was much better.)
I must say that I was impressed by the stage pressense of both Rob and John and that Zombie's show, visually, was really great.
However, as I mostly just cared about John and Ginger anyway, and the near-to-the-stage spot that I had been standing in had gotten really crowded (plus that there was a tall guy in my vicinity who was getting quite... enthusiastic, exposing me to the danger of getting hurt, which I not particularily like :P), I moved away after two songs.
I stood by the side for a while, then went to the merch stand, had my boyfriend buy something, went back into the concert hall, stood watching a bit longer, went back to the merch stand, bought an overly-expensive shirt myself, and left.
I guess I left early because I was tired/sore, had been requested to meet the person who was supposed to drive me home at 10.30, because I was a bit sad about possibly having dissappointed Manson/the short span of his show, and not really liking Zombie's music (it doesn't sound bad or something, but it seems so empty... it seems like a joke to me).

Over all, I had a good time.

Has it struck anybody that the first and last words Marilyn Manson utters in his performance is
"Hey, people!"

Also, what's he doing with that body? It looks like a naked woman from far away, what is it?

^His apron, gloves, and the plastic coverings point to Dexter. Manson has also mentioned that he was a fan of the show, so it was an easy reference to make.

I'm supportive of the way this aesthetic incorporates his knife mic and a cool interpretation of the song itself. Plays with that serial killer side to MM's dichotomous character.

There was this one part in the show where Twiggy decided to change guitar. How does he do that? Oh, just swings it and tosses it across stage, without looking. The guy working there catches it JUST as it was about to hit the floor. Props to the guy for catching it! Hahaha

I loved the use of props with Manson this show, I was impressed that he changed something for every single act, which is something he didn't do last time I went to see him. Manson was pretty amazing, despite being the diva that he is :P Twiggy was rocking it, in his little dress! But, as some of you said, I thought it was extremely short, I was really sad it was over.
I loved coma white, as always ^^

I primarily came there to see Manson, and am not too familiar with Rob Zombie's music... but he was *fucking amazing.*
I liked the set lists, very good song choices, I loved the crazy ass, weird props that seemed to be coming out of a black hole behind the stage or soemthing…. I felt like Zombie was much brighter and louder than Manson. Definitely had a better sound.
I hate to admit it, but i honestly felt like Manson was just warm up for Zombie, who seemed much more into it, and just had a different kind of energy about him.
I loved his little speeches ^^ (which weren't mostly focused around drugs….)

Finally back in Norway. Someone stole my phone during the show. Wanted to kill them.

Manson is a alpha male shaman. I did not expect that atmosphere around him for real. He is 100% what he's trying to be. Btw... Before the show (I had a VIP pass) I gave Manson a gift. I think he... ehmm. used the gift before the show started. Hahaha...

Loved the show. Rob Zombie kind of bored me, so I enden up only seeing a few of his songs.

AssetReign, in these videos from Amsterdam it shows clearly one of these dolls he used on Tourniquet before laying down, not a human being (Lindsay, like you said). Unless they changed it, but in this show specifically is a doll. The way the leg is moving as well, Manson tries to suffocate it, etc etc. I know you work somewhat related to him, but this was a doll, 100%.

Because of the spot in the audience I was in, I could peek past the huge sheet they hang before the show to prepare the stage and all... And there was this blonde girl in a bathrobe sitting on a chair towards the side of the stage. She could be seen sitting there most of the time during the show as well, but not during the song with the body (can't remember what song it was, that always blurs immediately after a concert)... So I assumed she was 'the body' during that song.
I'm not sure if she's Lindsay, as I know little more about her than her name and that she made some photographs of Manson, but at least it seemed like she wasn't a doll. :/

By the way, does anybody have a decent picture of that mask that Manson wore at some point that appeared to have three faces? I'm doing a schoolproject 'bout Manson and I have to intergrate some stuff from the concert in it. The mask stood out to me and reminded me of one of Manson's paintings etc. etc. But I can't find no pictures of it on zee Internet. I could draw it, but that would take up quite a bit of time considering I don't have much of it. So please if you have a picture of it, or know where I can find one, tell me!
