Definitely going to this! I can't fucking wait. As I did with the other Austrian show I'll try to post updates (articles, news, ...) whenever I see them.

07-16-2012, 04:31 PM
My wife and I are traveling back to Switzerland to catch up with her family which has given me a chance to be able to catch Rob Zombie/Marilyn Manson! We've chosen to catch him in Vienna, Austria but the tickets haven't gone on sale yet! Does anyone know when they will likely be available as I'm going to have to sit on the internet the minute I can buy them because I've already booked my hotel/flights!

Peace cunts!

07-16-2012, 05:09 PM
Yes, well. I am definitely attending this so put me under 'Attending' as well :D

Do any of you know when tickets are going to be available? Some help would be appreciated because I may have made a bad decision by getting flights and hotels before I got the tickets. ><

I know that from 20 July to buy a ticket.

07-18-2012, 05:30 AM
Hey thanks for trying to help but that article didn't help very much? None of those websites list the Marilyn Manson event?

07-18-2012, 06:19 AM

08-24-2012, 02:15 AM
Did anyone else realise that this gig is on the day of John Lennon's death? :(

08-24-2012, 10:03 AM
^ Chapman was just denied parole for the seventh time.

08-24-2012, 10:23 AM
Thank fuck, that asshole will never get out...

08-24-2012, 10:24 AM
I might wear a Lennon shirt and see if I can throw it up to Manson. :)

11-22-2012, 09:30 AM
I'll be there too :>
Choosing to pick up a ticket in Vienna doesn't seem to be a good idea now, as I'm really stressed that something will go wrong ;/ Plus, I read there's some kind of holiday in Austria then, but oeticket mailed me their centers are open on 8th December.

11-23-2012, 02:43 AM
@ Paradox

What could go wrong?
The 8th of December is indeed a holiday in Austria but some shops are still open, so if you got confirmation from oeticket it should be alright. There are also a few stores relatively close to the venue where you can pick up the tickets, your best bet would be to make a list just in case. You can also reach most of these shops (and the venue) by metro pretty quickly, so that shouldn't be a problem.

11-23-2012, 12:19 PM
Attending!! Can't wait to finally see Manson & Zombie live onstage!!

12-08-2012, 04:10 PM
Unfortunately, a terrible show... I was blown away by Hey, Cruel World, Disposable Teens and The Love Song but the gig really went downhill after that to the point where mOBSCENE had to almost be stopped because of timing issues...

EDIT: was drunk

12-08-2012, 04:44 PM
Just got home. Wow, that was easily the best day of my life.

First I met some cool people waiting for the Golden Ticket entrance. It was fucking cold outside so the early entrance alone was worth the money. The meet and greet was sold out so there were lots of people waiting in line behind us. The line for Rob Zombie was cute, he sold like 5-7 tickets.

The meet and greet itself was amazing, Manson was in a great mood and loved the letter I gave him. To my surprise I was even more nervous to meet him than I thought I would be so after the signing I completely forgot about the photo session and almost left lol. There I was even more nervous because I didn't know what to say so I just hugged him and didn't even notice the camera.

The opening DJ (and his fat friend) was fucking terrible. The only good part about their "performance" was their song selection (Pantera, Rammstein, Sepultura, ...) and the two girls that were pole dancing.

The Manson came on, with the Overneath the Path of Misery/MacBeth/Suspiria Intro which was awesome to hear. The rest of the show was similar to the others, but I liked how he dedicated a song to Dimebag and Lennon. His voice was in top form, Sweet Dreams had the best scream I've ever heard. The only downsides were that there were some technical problems (curtain during Slo-Mo-Tion didn't work, the gun he had for The Love Song didnt work either and there were also some sound problems and the sound was better during Rob Zombie in general. Jason fucked up a couple times, especially during the intro to Antichrist Superstar, which confused Twiggy and Manson. Manson got really pissed, threw his bible at Jason and later destroyed the drum kit during The Beautiful People and smashed some drums in his direction and across the whole stage. It almost hit Lindsay so she moved to the side and started laughing. Right after The Beautiful People she ran backstage to Manson with a "shit's gonna get down LOL" look on her face. Great show, I loved the new show elements (double cross projections on the backdrop, Lindsay as dead body during No Refection - where she actually was naked, to my surprise).

Zombie was...well, it's hard to say. Most of the time I felt like at a halloween themed kid's birthday party with all the balloons, blow bubbles and robots and stuff. To my surprise his vocals were better than I thought and the sound overall was great. The setlist was, as expected disappointing. Most of the time I just watched John 5, he kind of stole the show. It was a high energy fun ride with no substance and it felt kind of rigid. If you think Manson does the same routine every night, then watch a Zombie show. I still enjoyed the show though, it was nice to watch John 5 play.

Overall a perfect night... I still can't believe I actually met Manson. It's gonna take a while. By the way, that man is 1000 times more beautiful in person.

I'll have some videos and crappy pictures up by Monday.

12-08-2012, 05:01 PM
Can't wait to see videos of this haha. Jason has been pretty rock solid, so wonder if they were having sound/monitor issues. Thanks for the write up.

12-08-2012, 05:17 PM
I just watched the video of Antichrist Superstar I took on my camera, and yeah, it was definitely Jason who fucked up the intro, so Manson didn't know when to start and Twiggy wanted to help Manson but didn't know what to play either lol. Jason started to play the song too early while the HEY! chant was still going. But hey, after that we got an even more intense performance of the song, an incredible version of The Beautiful People where he bitched at Jason some more and destroyed the drum kit.

I also have to mention that while some songs had some technical problems, others sounded and looked phenomenal and never sounded better.

well, everything napalmheart just said.
really great night, was really nervous meeting the man himself too, but he was really nice and incredible charming.
didnt expect him to have such a strong handshake lol :D

zombie was pretty solid too, but, dont get me wrong, i really like rob zombie, but its just not the same level as manson musicwise.
maybe the performance was really good, but the songs just arent. at least not that good. i dont know, they get really repetitive after a while.

so, really great fucking night!

@napalmheart, i didnt see you at the vip thing, that may be cause, i never saw you in person, but i its a shame none the less.

aaaand: i asked manson, if there were any new releases planned in the near future and he answered:
yeah, in early 2013 there will be released something special. -> maybe the born villain special edition?

The Wax Gentleman
12-08-2012, 05:37 PM
That last bit makes me very happy. I've only read a few stories where people actually ask, or rather REPORT asking Manson interesting questions that he answers awesomely. If people could please ask/report asking Manson these questions more often? He seems to be a lot more honest/ less vague with fans in person. God, I wish I could meet him.

12-08-2012, 05:53 PM
Yeah I know, he's really nice in person, he didn't even wanna let me go when we took the photos. He's such an amazing person.

@Miriam Unterweger: I was in the very front of the line, but without any pictures of you I can't tell if I saw you or not :)

12-09-2012, 01:01 AM
I'm shocked that anyone thought that was a good show... The screams were amazing but Manson's vocals were all over the shop and his band can't even play in time anymore.

Odd that the Antichrist Superstar thing was brought up and not the Mobscene issue. The song was played and was hardly even recognisable, Manson sung like three words for the whole song and Coma White was absolutely butchered.

I know Manson has played some great shows on this tour but last night was not one of them, they were even worse then when I saw them at Soundwave!

I can't stand Rob Zombie, him, his band or his movies but they were easily the superior band even with the lack of substance, the robotics and all that nonsense. You could have given that all to Manson and he would have still been shown up... His band sounded like what Marilyn Manson's band used to sound like in the 90's (I wonder why...). It was even simple things that made RZ's show better, an example being that Piggy D and RZ have their vocal parts really sorted out where Twiggy and Manson don't at all.

12-09-2012, 02:04 AM
Well yeah, the band (or Jason mostly) fucked up a couple times, so what? I choose this over an over-rehearsed show like Zombie's any time. Coma White sounded fucking beautiful, even on the video I took.

Well, if you didn't like the show, sorry for you. I loved it and had the best day of my life :)

That's what you get when you work with samples instead of a keyboard player, lol

12-09-2012, 09:20 AM
Once or twice is cool but this happened during The Dope Show and Slo Mo Tion as well... The first three tracks of the night blew me away, I was absolutely amazed and in awe of how great the band sounded but the messing up of the four songs following that (all in a row) really made me disinterested. I still had a really great night though so I can at least appreciate that it gave me a chance to explore another side of Vienna. Met some great people and what not.

It's kind of rubbish that this is considered to be a 'co headliner' thing, Marilyn Manson is very obviously the opening act. His set is MUCH shorter and the mix is a lot louder and clearer for Rob Zombie.

I'll still get a ticket to another Manson show even though I've been done 3 times now. What can I say, I'm a sucker!

12-09-2012, 09:29 AM
Just watched a bunch of vids from the show, and even those two songs aside (couldn't find anything else besides Mobscene/ACSS with timing issues) looked like an awesome show. I'm betting there was some shit going wrong with their in ear monitors because those give the cues on where in the song they are, and can't remember Jason ever being one to fuck shit up. Sometimes shit fucks up at a gig, and glad they kept going rather than some bands that would throw a fit and just stop. Mobscene just seems MM got excited and skipped ahead a line but then catches himself after the chorus. Band sounds perfectly tight on that one. ACSS seems like Jason just rolled into the verse one bar early, but Twiggy caught it by the time the verse starts, and MM catches it by the time the chorus hits. We've definitely seen far worst trainwrecks and aborted songs due to technical failure. Kudos to keep going

AIDS lol. Not my favorite song but love seeing the crowd jump the fuck up for it.

lol @ Twiggy's rockette kicks

Must be horrible to loose track and then try and catch it back up.

That user http://www.youtube.com/user/Codemned87 has Personal Jesus up now as well.

Slo Mo Tion (no fuck ups here)

Coma White

12-09-2012, 10:22 AM
Well yes there were sume fuck ups, but I still thought it was a decent show that I prefer over anything else. Though I was dissapointed how short Manson's set is on this tour and that there are no changes in the setlist, I really missed a song like Hate Anthem, or RR Nigger, or Murderers... I like Rob Zombie, but would rather like to see them before Manson and not the other way round. They did their standard performance - it's nice to see once in a while, but now we're seeing 4 shows and I think we're just going to leave after Manson the next 3 times - everything that comes after a Manson show is gonna suck ;) But obviously the crowd thought differently, so...
Napalm Heart already posted the video we made and I managed to upload, unfortunately the computer turned itself off when I let it on uploading during the night, now we're in Munich and this damn connection doesn't let me upload anything. So hopefully tomorrow. We have No Reflection, Slo-Mo-Tion and King Kill + ACSS. Let's see what we can record today.

The night was amazing, I enjoyed every moment. Of course, I noticed the mistakes listed here, but who cares? Live a great experience for me to hear the songs of my favorite bands. Thanks Manson, Twiggy, Jason, Fred...Ginger & John5!!!

That's what you get when you work with samples instead of a keyboard player, lol

It would have been the same with Pogo, all he really did was press play, then drink a beer and spank his keyboard at random times. My band has lots of samples, and we use clicks, if anything goes wrong it can be a nightmare. Luckily nothing has ever screwed live for me, but in practices there has been a few times when technical issues screwed up the song, rather than it been a band member. With my click track as the drummer, I usually use little bell chimes to let me know when a song is reaching a next section, in my in ear headphones, so in case there is any monitor issues, which EVERY musician runs into at a few venues

Ok...back from 4 day trip to Vienna.

And what about Manson?

It was my fourth concert (2001 - Prague CZ, 2003 - Tabor CZ, 2008 - Bratislav SK) and in comparison for past shows which i saw, it was mindblowing. Guns, God & Government show was simply best, but in next step is this year performance in Vienna. Manson was in top form, screaming shit out of his lungs. Yes, he was lost in the begining of Mobscene. ACSS was fucked up by Jason, but i donīt really care. Iīve had great time. Probably my last show and I am totaly satisfied.

And Zombie? One big, hairy, colorful joke.

Great night to be a Manson fan.

Finally I've found some time to give you some information about my trip from Ingolstadt to Vienna and Munich.
I've wrote the Manson-related stuff in bold so if you feel like only reading these parts and you don't care about my other shit, it's perfectly alright.

We (my girlfriend and brother) started our trip on Saturday morning. And yes it was way to early to start anything. But as we where able to get us three Meet and Greet tickets we had to be in Vienna at around 14.30 pm. The distance from Ingolstadt to Vienna is about 500 kilometers which means it takes about 4-5 hours time, depending on the weather and traffic… Oh yeah the weather we come to that shit later. The way to Vienna was easy and there was almost no traffic at all. So we arrived at 11.30 pm at out hotel and had time to check in, shower and eat something. The anticipation for the Manson Meet and Greet was rising. As a long time fan and admirer of his art, it would be a dream come true to meet him.

Around 14.00 pm we arrived at the venue and there were already 5-7 people waiting in line. We joined them and saw the golden ticket sign right at the door. So everything looked perfect. It was freezing outside, so we were really happy that after two cigarettes they opened the doors exactly on time. By now about 90-100 people were in the line. Inside the venue we met lovely Melanie who was in charge of handling the Meet and Greet. Off-topic: Thank you for being so kind and awesome Melanie.
After we received our goodie bags we waited in line. 50 Minutes later Melanie came from the backstage area and told us "We have some problems getting Manson into the room". I thought this was really funny, because I somehow expected it. Manson, the diva. :D Of course, he will let us wait.
Nevermind, after 20 more minutes Melanie told us to come with her.

We walked thorough the backstage area and from there we could see the stage. The DRUGS sign and double crosses looked fn awesome and I couldn't wait to see the live show. My eight show btw.
After 10 more minutes we were standing in front of the room where Manson was in. Here comes the only thing I have to criticize: we were not all together in one big room and could watch Manson how he reacted to other people etc. Everyone at a time had to go into the tiny, little room. So there was not much time you could spend with him. I think this was not Manson's or his crew's fault but the organizers of the venue in Vienna. But never mind, this did not stop me from being over excited.
First my girlfriend entered and Manson asked her what's her name was and signed her "I've got my arm around no one" painting from him. "To J from MM" Such an awesome touch to the painting. I was so glad that it worked out great for my girlfriend and then...
…finally, it was time for me to enter the room. I grabbed my "holy bible" which I wanted him to sign and stepped into the small room where candles where burning, Born Villain was playing and a mirror was standing. BAM. There he was. The greatest rockstar of all time in all his glory. Goddamn it he is one hell of a tall dude. His make-up was perfect and he just had such an amazing presence that filled the whole room. I know his stage presence from the live shows but that was much so more standing so close to him. He shook my hand and took my bible and smiled a little bit, then I asked him if he could draw me something because I wanted to use it as a tattoo. He drew a flower of evil and signed it with MM and the double cross. I shook his hand again and wished him the best for the show. Don't know why I already did this because the photo wasn't made at this point. I was just to excited.
After that my girlfriend and I were just blown away. We couldn't stop smiling and were all smiles. We stood again in line and waited for our photo.
At this time Twiggy and Fred were doing soundcheck on the stage. This also explains why Twiggy isn't at the Meet and Greets and the moment.
When we entered the room my girlfriend was again the first to get her photo. Manson hugged her and and smiled at her and it was just awesome.
Then it was time for my photo. I didn't know how to pose so Manson just grabbed me and put his arm around my shoulder and the picture was just perfect. It was such an amazing moment. I shook his hand again (third time this day) and wished him a great show again. He padded me on the shoulder and smiled. It was just phenomenal. Thank you Marilyn Manson for this great experience.

We had to go outside the venue because early access was just at 18.00 pm. We brought our stuff to our hotel room, eat something and jumped right back to the venue at about 19.00 pm. We had seats because we wanted to enjoy the show from the stands. We checked the merchandise and bought us some shirts and then went to our seats. The opening "DJ" was beyond horrible. Possibly the worst thing I've heard in my entire live. You couldn't handle his bullshit remixes of great songs. Total idiot.

But then it was time for show. The light went out and the "Suspiria" intro started. I hoped for Manson to do the "Macbeth" quote at the beginning and BAM there it was. "this is a tale told by an idiot" and so on. The intro together with the speech of Macbeth is just awesome. Great way to start the set.
The curtain dropped and "Hey, Cruel World" started. And it started like the fires from hell. The sound was awesome and Manson's voice was at its best. "Creator, Preserver, Destroyer". His screams were so mind-blowing. Unbelievable. I went to seven show before this one and his screams have never been better. After the opener, "Disposable Teens" followed and I thought it was the "Guns, God and Government Tour." It sounded exactly like the cd. Just freaking amazing.
The pope outfit was one of my favorites and I've never seen him wear it live. So that was really fun. Unfortunately, the smoke gun fucked up and he couldn't use it. After "The Love Song", "No Reflection" followed with the butcher dress and the new mask and the woman on the operation table. Manson did some sexual antics and sit on top of her. Great stuff.
Next one was "mOBSCENE". Wow. Manson totally fucked this song up. It took him about 2 minutes till he found into the song. It was funny and it can happen. We were at a fn rock show and so no complaints.
"The Dope Show" started with the "Happiness is a warm gun" intro, I think. Not sure about it, would be great if someone could get back to me about this. And confirm what song it was. After seven live shows it was the first time that Manson did not sing "The drugs they say are made right here in *insert city*" He just sang " are made in California" . Just a little side note.
I don't know what happened but after "The Dope Show" the sound of the whole band got somewhat shitty. I think someone changed the settings. It's a shame because the band and Manson sounded great till this point. It wasn't horrible after that, but it could have been better.
Manson took his guitar and "Slo-Mo-Tion" started. I love it when he play the guitar "like an asshole". It's just fun to watch. I like it when Manson is enjoying himself on stage.
"Rock is dead" was solid as always. Twiggys guitar looked awesome with the neon light on.
The intro and the stage set up for personal jesus was awesome. I love it when Manson is wearing a suit and his red tie. Not sure about the song, because I thing "Target Audience" would fit so much better with the shock symbol flag in the back and the other stuff. But never mind.
"Sweet Dreams" was a highlight for me. The three-headed mask and the swinging light were just incredible and the crowd absolutely went nuts for the song.
The light became blue and snow was falling down on us. It was time for "Coma White". Due to the sound problems it was a tad to loud so it sounded kind of not the way it is supposed to sound. But it was good nevertheless.
Twiggy started "KIng Kill 33" which I absolutely adored. It's such a great, powerful song live. I think they should play it longer. Not just as a intro for "ACSS". The podium with the barbed wire, the light at the shock logo and the two bodyguards with gas masks is just freaking amazing. It was a shame that Jason fucked up the intro and Manson and Twiggy did not know when to start the song. But nevertheless it is one of the strongest live songs. And no hard feeling for Jason. Mistakes happen and there are bad days.
I hate it when they play "The Beautiful People". I love the song but after it, the show's over. Manson and band rocked the shit out of the "Stadthalle" in Vienna. "The Beautiful People" was so powerful and strong. It was a pleasure to hear on of there best songs. Manson got pissed at the end and destroyed a drum from jason and kicked a PA. Good old days. Just like the good old days.

Overall, it was a great show. Not the best I've been to, but top 3 material, definitely. The stage props and costume changes were versatile and so different. The sound from the first 6 songs was just…. no words…awesome. I watched Manson and band this year in Austria, Dornbirn and there they where much more into it. Manson was much more talking during songs and twiggy was much more rocking out. In Vienna, Twiggy just seemed bored. Don't know why. This was just for the record. The show was in school grades a B+. And what I always love about Manson, no show is like the other. Thank you so much.

Zombie was good, if you are into a "Britney-Spears-like-choreographed" show. I hated his crowd-pandering and he definitely cannot sing. John 5 is a beast live. Greatest guitar hero in the world. Good rock show, but not more not less.

After the show we went to bed and prepared for the Munich show.
We started in Vienna at 13.00 and wanted to be in Munich at about 18.00 pm but then the snow hell broke lose…. to be continued in the Munich thread!

My picture with Marilyn Manson:

Weirdly enough, Manson seems to fuck up Mobscene at every concert of this tour in Europe. They should have switched to another song by now. Thanks for the story and great photo with Manson!

12-13-2012, 01:33 AM
Thanks for your review, Mexxecutioner! Awesome photo. I didn't see you (or in Dornbirn), but I'm glad you had such a great time too. In Dornbirn he talked more and played longer because there was no curfew.

I can only repeat myself and say that the show was awesome, and as you said it, no show is like the other. While I loved that the Hey, Cruel World... show was stripped down, I also loved the stage setup on the Twins of Evil tour. It was perfect, to the point, entertaining and meaningful. Rob Zombie's stage was just big and colorful, but I guess that's what people are into...

Here's another video I found:

You can't tell me this is bad, his performance beats everything from the past few tours.
