So I was going to let it rest, wait for a week or so before posting my art since looking through these pages I could only find one person who submitted their art on the same day as their registration was accepted...

But then I was like fuck that, I'm bored and I can't sleep, so here's something to do. Since when are manson fans the first people to care about manners anyway?

Some of you may recognize me as Westyane from an earlier forum... But seriously, fuck that name. Yeah, that's how us teenagers work, with our moodswings and shit. We just never make our fucking mind up.

Anyway, here's some of my art:

From 96 To Paranoia

The Time Is Worth The Time

Line Up, Roll Camera

Breaking The Same Old Ground

http://i48.tinypic.com/1640gl.jpg

Disassociative

As you can see, I suck at scanning and cropping but oh well.

No need to wait to post anything, just do it!

I love that last one Disassociative, what is that digital / mixed media? It's well done however you did it.

Line Up, Roll Camera is an interesting piece as well, feels very chaotic and sad with MM in the middle and film spiralling around him. I think it captures The High End of Low nicely.

None of this is digital, everything's traditional. Disassociative was made with acrylic colors.

And it was supposed to capture THEOL, thanks a lot [:

These are really great, nice work! My favorites are Disassociative and From 96 To Paranoia. I like the graphic nature of Disassociative and the gradients and juxtaposition of colour in From 96 To Paranoia are really well executed. Keen to see more of your work.

Welcome, Westy (or should I call you Mary?). You may remember me as Charon.

The art is great, and there's some new ones here I haven't seen before. I'm going to have to go with others and say that "Disassociative" is a favorite. Very well done on all of these.

Just a quick question. My hobby and love is also art and I was wondering how long those pictures take for you to complete? For me it would take maybe a month or two for the portraits but i'm not going to attempt them because I am not at that skill level. I always wanted to do portraits especially of Manson. Your portraits are spot on.

The theol-themed portrait with loads of other things on it took about a month. I think Disassociative took me about 1 week, I worked more each day on that one. Breaking The Same Old Ground took me about 3 weeks. How much I do each day varies.

From 96 To Paranoia is 20x50 cm (7.9x19.7 inches) and Disassociative is 24x33 cm (9.4x13 inches).

What was your inspiration for the titles for the first 2 pieces? The titles are strange but in a very interesting way. Like did you do the art then give the title or was the title brought up during the process?

What was your inspiration for the titles for the first 2 pieces? The titles are strange but in a very interesting way. Like did you do the art then give the title or was the title brought up during the process?

Both paintings have a lot to do with time. Back when I made paranoia I was starting to get more scared of a lot of things, my fear of death increased and I was more and more concerned that people around me would want to do bad things to me. I mostly got these feelings towards evening or night. It was a stressful time for me in general. 1996 is the year of my birth.

The second one... I can't really remember, it wasn't quite as emotional for me.

Paranoia is more tightly connected to its title than the second one, but both titles were brought up during the porcess.

Guys, you need to tame your anti spam bot because I can't post a fucking thing.

Ah, there we go.

Let's see how much of the post I've been trying to make both yesterday and today I can put in one post. Here goes:

^Thank you! ^_^

Oops, been a while, hasn't it?

I've been working on something else than paintings for the last year or so. A story-focused comic. It's gonna reach 200 pages this week... unless I get hit by the train or something. Then it's never gonna hit 200 pages.

Anyway, I'll show you a little of what's in it! ^_^

We have adorable tiny-people (those weird things called children) in cute clothing:

http://fc01.deviantart.net/fs71/i/2014/117/7/5/the_key_to_reality_chapter_6_page_1_by_maryyana-d7dsox1.png

http://fc06.deviantart.net/fs71/i/2014/117/5/3/the_key_to_reality_chapter_5_page_26_by_maryyana-d77yzm7.png

We have creepy things:

http://fc04.deviantart.net/fs71/i/2014/087/1/d/the_key_to_reality_chapter_5_page_44_by_maryyana-d7agxby.png

http://fc04.deviantart.net/fs71/i/2014/125/a/f/the_key_to_reality_chapter_6_page_24_by_maryyana-d7h9tqx.png

Sometimes both!

http://fc00.deviantart.net/fs71/i/2014/126/8/c/the_key_to_reality_chapter_6_page_12_by_maryyana-d7fawds.png

And grownups with cat ears and half their heads bashed in talking like children.

http://fc01.deviantart.net/fs71/i/2014/117/9/4/the_key_to_reality_chapter_4_page_6_by_maryyana-d71w2ot.png

...wait, what?

Ah, and there goes the block.

Now it won't let me access on my computer in what, 5 hours?
I'm just gonna have to try again later then. TAME YOUR SPAM FILTER.

Thank you! I use fineliners, markers and a regular mechanical pencil for greyshading hair, mouths and a few other things. But mostly I use fineliners and markers.

The last picture in the previous post was edited digitally though... I did that for a while but was never very good at it.

Now that the block is gone, let's see if I can post the rest of the pictures... and then the links. I think the links was what the spamfilter reacted to.

Here goes:

Anyway, I haven't really been doing much that's irrelevant to the comic because it's taking up all of my mind lately. I have made some things on the side, though, such as drawings of the characters for example. Here goes some of them:

http://fc04.deviantart.net/fs70/i/2014/120/2/6/you_re_a_genius__adam__by_maryyana-d7gm4ca.png
http://fc04.deviantart.net/fs70/i/2014/126/d/8/bonnet_by_maryyana-d7ft6ia.jpg
http://fc05.deviantart.net/fs70/i/2014/126/7/c/caught_by_maryyana-d7ek842.png
http://fc02.deviantart.net/fs71/i/2014/126/9/2/train_rails__rain_trails_by_maryyana-d6ob4tr.png

There are of course a lot more pages, and also some more drawings and paintings. If you are interested in the drawings, you can find them in my gallery on my dA: http://maryyana.deviantart.com/

I also have a folder for the comic there. All the deviation descriptions have the next and the previous page linked.
It's easier to read on smackjeeves or inkblazers, though.

MaryYana
05-08-2014, 01:26 AM
Now let's try the rest of the links.

Here's the comic on deviantART: http://maryyana.deviantart.com/gallery/44924611 (practical if you're a member there and want updates on new pages)
Here's the comic on Inkblazers: http://www.inkblazers.com/manga-and-comics/The-Key-To-Reality/detail-page/6925?lang=en (The best site of these three to read it on in my opinion since you can use the arrow keys to go back and forth, but you need to be a member to read more than one chapter)
Here's the comic on Smackjeeves: http://www.smackjeeves.com/comicprofile.php?id=144512 (Recommended if you're planning to read the full thing, but are not a member on inkblazers)

Here's a summary of the story:

"On the 26th of June, eight-year-old Amanda sneaks out after bedtime. Her reasons are innocent, and it's not the first time she does this, but what comes her way as a result is like a punishment from the above. Odd things start happening, the world changes around her and she gets lost.
She then meets up with Adam and Jonathan, two 19-year-old boys who have yet to notice anything particularily strange about this very night. They try to help her get back home, and for a while it seems like all will end well. But soon things once again take a turn for the worse, almost to the point of getting one of them killed. And this time it becomes much more difficult to have a hopeful spirit regarding what may happen from now on.
It slowly dawns on the three protagonists that they are no longer in the world that they are used to, and that home is very far away."

Basically, it's a horror story, with some comedy and cuteness in it. :3

I'm going to have to apologize for the way the first two chapters look, and how messy it is mainly in the beginning. Keep in mind that this is my first "serious" comic.

Thank you for your time ^_^
