Anyone here do some origami?

I'm totally shit at it but I was just checking over buzzfeed (http://www.buzzfeed.com/peggy/50-tiny-and-adorable-diy-stocking-stuffers) and saw this origami star made up of $1 notes. I have quite a few of these left over from my holiday this year and thought I would attempt to make one, turns out it was really easy to do. Instructions for this HERE (http://www.homemade-gifts-made-easy.com/modular-money-origami-star.html).

I made this for my Mother.
This is 3D origami. These are put together from hundreds of individual (identical) pieces.
It is soooo mind numbing! This is the first time I've tried it, and I'm never going to do it again.

^ Yeah...fuck that, lol.

Pretty cool, though! I'm sure she loved it.

This shit is seriously impressive.

Yea, she liked it, It's sitting on her coffee table. And every time I visit I'm always preparing myself to put it back together, it's not the most durable craft. :)

If you do a google search of '3d origami' you'll see some much more impressive stuff. I swear, these people have way too much time on their hands to do this!

I love origami! I can't do anything cool like the swans, though... just little things like cranes and balloons :) I might try out a star... that looks cool :)

I actually found a couple of my old origami books last month, and I have some fancy paper that has been sitting around for over a year... if I make some I'll post here :D In middle school I was always doing origami. I had a little zoo :)

Origami is one of the things you can do with fidgety fingers in public that won't get you in trouble. And, since I'm a miser, you can make something fairly impressive with cheap materials. Like bottles of lucky stars. They're girlie yeah, but the point is that you give them to girls and they think you're sweet!http://i.imgur.com/aEfyRQn.jpg (http://imgur.com/aEfyRQn)
And if you're forced to come up with Xmas gifts on the fly, there's always Moravian stars.

My favorite is the simple sonobe unit made from wrapping paper. You can assemble them a number of ways. Here's a few.

Idk if this is the right place to put such a thing? but I found these Sailor Moon origami sheets scanned and if anyone was interested in printing them, here ya go :D

I love origami paper! TuT I have a couple packs hidden away in my room, it's so beautiful! I think I've used it more for collages, though XD haha.

Yuzukelly, I'm with you! Origami paper can be so beautiful, especially the kind with traditional Japanese designs or the handmade rice or mulberry papers. I'm much too clutzy to fold the nice stuff, but I buy it in hopes of having an art project for it someday.

-Laughing- Yes Mr.B, I am trying to resuscitate the things I started life with. Namely, curiosity and imagination. It's taking this oldster to some very strange, but fun, places.
