I noticed this a few weeks ago by photographer Ali Mahdavi (http://ali-mahdavi.com/) who has also photographed Marilyn Manson in the past. But this one photograph of his is quite similar to the new photograph of Manson in the Vogue shoot.

I really didn't know where to put this as I noticed it with my eyes, hence visual, and we somehow don't have a thread about LOST and Manson. Has anyone ever noticed that the Director of Photography that worked on the show's name is Michael Bonvillain?

yeah, when I went to America last year, my cousin who just started watching LOST after me telling him he needed to watch it, we was having a morning of LOST. We had just been talking about Born Villain too and he noticed the guy's name and he was like "wow, see that, so close".

I'm surprised no one has picked up on the similarities between Manson's Omega - 'The Hole Is Where The Heart Is' - and the new outfit Twiggy has for Born Villain [designed by Wes Borland]:-

http://www.providermodule.com/gallery/albums/userpics/10001/normal_MA_Promotional_56.jpg http://providermodule.com/Administrators/S.D./twiggy_suit.png

I really want to know more about the significance of the circular emblem over Twiggy's heart. It evokes the phrase "Cross my heart and hope to die", and the solar cross symbol marking the axes between two solstices and two equinox. But in relation to the Manson visual parallel, it definitely reminds me of a more organic, fleshy version of the Omega suit.

This is the only media I've seen it on, but as the Summer Europe leg was coming to an end, Manson wore a triple-face mask during Sweet Dreams.

I wasn't certain of how related this play may be to Manson at all (unfamiliar with it), so I Googled the title and Gottfried Helnwein directed it, so this is definitely in the cards.

I just saw a film called "Beyond the Black Rainbow" which featured an image that looks similar to the above. Not to mention an either intentional or at least coincidental reference in the title to Disposable Teens.

Much like Helwein's Lady Macbeth being appropriated for the 'Crack Roquettes' in the mOBSCENE music video, this aesthetic was utilised numerous times during The Golden Age Of Grotesque.
Of the art installation Manson hosted to mark the era at Volksbühne Berlin he wrote:-

"I headed for the birthplace of Expressionism, humming The Alabama Song, by Kurt Weill.
It was time for The Grotesk Burlesk and dozens of mice scurried from the Kinderfeld."
Marilyn Manson, Trans Amnesia (http://www.providermodule.com/journal/?v=j/2003/trans_amnesia) - 21.04.2003

http://www.helnwein.com/stc/ghpicts/gh1223.jpg

Also, in the aforementioned mOBSCENE video, young actress Britney was seen in similar dressing, presumably furthering the theme of girls with gauze around their heads in Helnwein's work.

http://japan.helnwein.com/stc/ghpicts/gh1300.jpg

Apply also, of course, the numerous references Manson has made to head wounds during his career, whether personally or via the medium of media figures like Kennedy (I recall the "wounded head" observation during Holy Wood's tenth chapter).

I think it's possible that fashion label Void of Course may have created this new mask as well, saw this triple head mask on their facebook page. Doesn't look exactly the same as Manson's jaw is missing, I guess so he can still sing with it on.

Still from David Bowie's 1976 music video, "Wild is the Wind", shot appears frequently throughout.

Noticed the resemblance last night and thought it was too similar not to mention, look at the shadows and arrangement of the face on the left of the photo.

I watched the 1991 movie 'Terminator 2: Judgement Day' last night for the first time and already began to notice some potential visual parallels between three different scenes in the movie and some MM photographs and lyrics circa the Born Villain era.

First up, a shot of main character Sarah Connor wearing sunglasses in the desert, I researched these to find that they were made by Matsuda Eyewear, "the legendary, luxury, Japanese eyewear company".

http://i1374.photobucket.com/albums/ag432/kk_151/sunglasses_zpsedffb650.jpg (http://s1374.photobucket.com/user/kk_151/media/sunglasses_zpsedffb650.jpg.html)

After seeing this, I immediately recognized it with this very recent shot of MM with Die Antwoord.

http://i1374.photobucket.com/albums/ag432/kk_151/sunglassescopy_zps99ccc3fd.jpg (http://s1374.photobucket.com/user/kk_151/media/sunglassescopy_zps99ccc3fd.jpg.html)

Perhaps the most interesting parallel to me that I found was this, an engraving made into a wooden table, produced by Sarah Connor in the above mentioned desert scene.

http://i1374.photobucket.com/albums/ag432/kk_151/no-fate_zpsd0762a15.jpg (http://s1374.photobucket.com/user/kk_151/media/no-fate_zpsd0762a15.jpg.html)

Compare this to the opening lyrics from 'Hey, Cruel World...' and the result is something to be thought about!
I bring this one to attention as MM has admitted himself in previous interviews that during the recording of 'Born Villain' he used his films as inspiration, however I cannot directly prove this as a parallel because we also know that he wrote some lyrics on the road during the THEOL tour (although this was heavily influenced by film itself).

- - - Updated - - -

Maybe a weak link but I thought it had potential nonetheless, a shot again of the character behind a chain-link fence.

http://i1374.photobucket.com/albums/ag432/kk_151/Sarah-Connor-Nightmare_zps6608575d.jpg (http://s1374.photobucket.com/user/kk_151/media/Sarah-Connor-Nightmare_zps6608575d.jpg.html)

Then, a photograph of MM behind a glass window with a similar chain-link inner circa 2012.
