I think some of the fan art coming from this site is exquisite, particularly from Norsefire. I'd like to have a decent understanding of photo editing and computer art that right now extends nowhere beyond Paint... I don't even know if graphic design is the right word, but can anybody recommend any pieces of software that are easy to get a grip of and might help me emulate the style I've seen so often on PM? Thanks a lot.

Yes, Photoshop can be a great tool if you know what you're doing, especially with the addition of a drawing tablet. People have created some remarkable work with computers, but I personally think it takes some of the originality and personality out of your work. I still prefer to hand draw or paint while computers can sort of 'dehumanize' your expressions.

I just use photoshop but sometimes I draw stuff by hand as well and scan it in and mix it all up.

And what I'm able to do in Ps is all self taught by just playing around in it.

Alright.. I'll look into some Photoshop software and mess about until I have a good handle on it.
