Given he's hour long time slot at SW, what can we realistically deduce would be the set list for the festival?

Is he still playing sweet dreams acoustic? or standard version now? I'm not sure how the acoustic version would stand up at a festival.

Anyway, predicted hour long setlist

Deep Six
Disposable Teens
Mobscene
No Reflection
Killing Strangers
Sweet Dreams
Cupid Carries a Gun
The Dope Show
Third day
New Shit
Beautiful people
Hate anthem

Possible TMOLA over New Shit. Hopefully Personal Jesus gets cut from the festival set.

In 2012 you guys got a different set then the rest of the tour. You got pretty much the only performances of 1996 that year.

Was the first shows of the tour however. Got nothing from Born Villain but a few songs from the previous tour and a couple of trial and errors.

Pretty much what Warship my Wreck/Mister Superstar was for the first show this tour.

Considering the lack of variation this tour so far, I assume it will be just a truncated version of the current set. A festival friendly affair.
Shame Angel w Scabbed Wings didn't make the cut this tour. Would have been great to see.

Well I'll be at Cherry Bar (Melbourne) either Friday or Saturday nights or both.

Most likely wearing a King Parrot T shirt. Say G'day if you spot me

Is this being recorded or streamed?

I hope it will be this time. Last time MANSON played Soundwave they didn't sign off the right for them to be recorded. Or something like that...

Is this being recorded or streamed?

I would very much doubt it.
I've never see any pro recording or footage of anything that has ever happened at Soundwave.

Always weird to see Manson at daylight, but the photos and videos are looking great!

Photos look good! Although the setlist is meh I'm still guessing it was a huge step up performance wise from 2012.

Quick review...
better than last time
set was ok. New songs sounded a lot better than the older material (coming from an old school fan) perhaps I've just been blessed with seeing the older somgs performed in their hey day. I just wish they had have played more New stuff.
lots of love between Manson and twiggy.
no song fuck ups. They could have easily fit in cupid if they didn't ass about w some of the song outros and intros that were somewhat cringe worthy.
was expecting greatness from personal Jesus from what I've read on here... Really wasn't any better than last time.
hate anthem (after seven day binge) was the best of the set.

Set wasn't cut short at all. Had a full hour the whole time.

Killer be killed absolutely nailed it. For a first ever show there were absolutely zero Fuck ups and no technical issues, which is what I wish I could say about a lot of the other bands on stage 4.

Met twiggy at cherry bar Friday night. Hes still very shy and not drinking. Avoided my best attempts at small talk. I also avoided the disappointment of asking for a photo with him (as my last encounter ended with a blurred photo)

Anyway. It's King parrot day today :)

Here's a review:

Drawing one of the biggest crowds of the day, Marilyn Manson ’s god-like aura on stage cannot be denied. He played a hit-laden set spanning his 20-year career. There was plenty of love between Manson and longtime collaborator Twiggy Ramirez on bass, which would’ve melted the heart of any hardcore Manson fan. Highlights included the bluesy ‘Third Day Of A Seven Day Binge’ off his latest album The Pale Emperor, and set closer ‘Irresponsible Hate Anthem’ from the 1996 album Antichrist Superstar.

Great show! I was second row from the barrier. I'll also be at the Sydney sideshow.
His voice was on point and the band sounded fantastic. It's a shame they didn't actually end up playing Cupid Carries A Gun (apparently they did in Adelaide yesterday though). Theatrics were a bit scarce, except for a couple of different backdrops and fancy microphones. But their make-up and outfits looked killer.
Don't know where people are getting the idea that the set was cut short. They were allocated an hour and played for an hour.

Here's the balance of my review here:

The Marilyn Mansonaissance is upon us
Marilyn Manson is no spring chicken. He’s (allegedly) dabbled in more class A drugs than you’ve had hot dinners. And his last appearance at Soundwave was defined by both these factors. His latest album The Pale Emperor , however, is streets ahead of his output over the previous decade, largely due to his collaboration with film score composer Tyler Bates and slightly more sober outlook on life.

As it turns out, not only is Manson back in shape physically, his newer material resonates better live than many of this classic setlist staples. The dingy blues of ‘Third Day of a Seven Day Binge’ cut through the air to deliver an almost tangible product to his adoring fans who had gathered en masse to see their pale lord’s resurrection. Unfortunately along with set opener ‘Deep Six’ it was the only cut off Pale Emperor that got a look in. For the most part the set remained a greatest-hits affair with ‘Disposable Teens’, ‘The Dope Show’ and ‘The Beautiful People’ all played in addition to his two best known covers: Eurythmics’ ‘Sweet Dreams’ and Depeche Mode’s ‘Personal Jesus’.

It wasn’t a set delivered with the same punch or production that once made Manson enemy #1, but it was still a superb performance which proved that every good rockstar deserves a second chance.
