It's a fuck you song that people see as a fuck yeah song, but much like vampires, narcissists cannot see themselves. It's funny. You won't know that this song is about you. Better watch yourselves. ;) lol

Quick question about Manson's makeup here. That blue circle on his forehead - what is it? Is it supposed to be like a third eye TOOL-esque thing? Or is it just cool makeup with no symbolism behind it?

Manson hasn't had anything relating to mysticism or spirituality in his music or act since Pogo was in the band. People forgot Pogo was the mastermind of a lot of the 'below the surface' stuff. I'd say this was cool blue makeup at best.

Circles like diamonds and the Avalanche of symbols that Manson highlights in his art have a vast degree of different meanings. If you do some research you might stumble upon something that attaches meaning to what Manson is alluding to.

No it's cool I do get the point you were making, in that Manson's use of symbols can usually be properly interpreted with a bit of good contextual research. I'm just not sure that researching a circle is really going to yield a remotely accurate result in this case lol.

Cringeon seems to know what the actual meaning behind it is, so it would be cool if he could just say what it is or point in the appropriate direction, for those of us who couldn't make it to the show and have put in the time to notice details like that and express an interest in such.

My videos from the first. The VIP section was furthest from the stage, so image isn't much use but audio is decent. I was right at the soundboard right behind Hugh & Mark Boone Junior ;) This was probably the best sounding show performance wise, the band just was really tight all around but Halloween was special just cause the audience was crazy and the band brought the chaos. Welcome to the Revolution.

This could be entirely off-base, but this was my personal take on the circle. It reminded me of witch symbols, so I figured I'd look in that direction. It works in a way, but in the end it's just some random musings of mine since I found them interesting as well.

Killer vids, Cringeon. I can't wait to catch this tour. This current lineup is such a turnaround from the band's weak showing at a couple of the previous tours. I still haven't listened to the new stuff live, but people seem to be loving it. Fuck yeah.

I'm impressed with the current line up skills, the songs just sound well executed, with all instruments/notes sounding clear and the original tracks beeing respected. That Sweet Dreams snipet was amazing. Both the guitars and Gil are doing great! Did something happened during Third Day though? Not sure but I got the impression something was missing. Also is there a back pre-recorded "mmm" playing together with Manson's singing on that part?

The circle on his forehead is reminiscent of David Bowie's makeup during the Ziggy Stardust era, as shown here: http://phishthoughts.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/10/dbmickrock.jpg

Some say that Bowie wore this golden circle on his forehead to represent Apollo, the sun god in Greek mythology. Apollo is also the god of "truth and prophecy, healing, plague, music, poetry, and more." You can find info on Apollo here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apollo
This page also says that Apollo is considered a healer and a protector from evil, which is interesting when referenced by Manson.

However, Manson does wear a blue circle instead of a golden one. Blue most typically represents purity and innocence. I am just pulling this all together now, but could it be a symbol that maybe he is making a statement about his Christ-like identity that he has created over the years? Maybe he is saying something about his message as a whole- that he is trying to do good and be a positive influence? Does he just like circles and the color blue?

Who knows. I haven't the time right now to fully formulate a theory, but I can come back to this at a later time. I just hope this will help you in your research if you wanted to do any.

I hope Cupid Carries A Gun has some sort of a buildup or intro thing in the album version. It sounds like one of those iconic long atmospheric tracks that stand out in all the great MM albums like Man That You Fear, Minute of Decay, Speed of Pain etc. It sounds amazing as it is being played but I wish it has that buildup and maybe an outro too as I can see it potentially being one of those tracks that always end up being my long lasting favorites.

Thanks Cringeon for those amazing recorings. Watching those videos inspired me to listen a whole bunch of my favorite MM songs that I hadn't listened to in a long time.

Date specific threads should stay on topic about that particular show, be it videos pics, reviews, etc. More general discussion about the new stuff can go in the Album #9 thread in Gen MM, or any other thread. This is to keep the date specific threads more focused for people who come in to read them and don't have to shift thru 10+ pages of off topic.

This is pretty easy to understand, we all know it.

Thing is Jaglie comment wasn't delusional and out of topic, it was just a general comment about the other shows to enhance what he was going to point out on this shows Mr Superstar so, it wasn't necessary to bring ruling back to the table. It's a clear exageration, people should be more relaxed about this, this is discussion forum not a prison camp. Personaly, I would appreciate more reading an actual Vertigo comment about this show too, instead of comments on other people's comments.

My message wasn't directed at Jaglie! You should have been here yesterday. There were 3 pages of discussing other MM shows, mostly about the theatrics, stage clothes and props and guilty me I was one of them...and Cringeon moved all the messages to the 'Tainted live' thread in MM discussions,

so you may want to apologize to me.

I have high quality front row video of Mr. Superstar, but I can be heard YELLING throughout the song. Anyone care to put the audio from cringeon's video over mine?
i was basically on the part of the stage right infront of Tyler/next to Manson. IT was awesome.

Marilyn Manson is shock hazard once gain. He is universal power of all dark. Band is power. Music is power. Blue swirl means a shift in his brain causing people go insane. Crowd is crazy. New songs so far scariest to start tours in year. Must see and it's only the third day of a 365 day binge.

Great video. I have only just now noticed Manson's microphone. It is funny to see those people hugging Manson and touching his hair when he gets close to them white singing Mister Superstar. Almost like he is a nice little pop star.

Those fans were so nice and awesome to talk to in line, but i do feel they went overboard with how physical they were towards Manson. I/E, playing with his hair when Manson wasn't even facing them during Mr. Superstar, it verged on disrespectful.
I also saw people going through/and deleting their photo files on their cameras, as the show was still going on. DON"T DO THAT SHIT IN THE FRONT ROW. GTFO and leave that spot to someone that actually wants to be there.

I wasn't looknig through my lcd screen while filming. I definitely wanted footage of mr.Superstar, but not at the expense of not enjoying it to its fullest in person. I don't know if there was a problem with the upload, but the video seems to stagger at points, while my file doesnt :(

The crowds inconsideration was THE ONLY negative aspect of the night. Manson and the band gave a fantastic set, seemed incredibly focused, and from what I heard, it was the best of the three nights.

I missed seeing him do that little arm dance at the start of New Shit.
