This one is obvious.

David Bowie playing as Ziggy Stardust circa 1972 before taking the stage.

Manson before taking the stage in Moscow.

I know that the whole Manson/Bowie references are rife but I haven't seen anybody post such a stark makeup comparison.
Notice the line below the lip (from as far back as ACSS), the strong pink around the eyes which Manson has sported in various forms over the years and the new addition of the large circle on the forehead.

Bowie has attained that this look was inspired by Kabuki theatre makeup, a style adopted from Japan.

'As a monstrous out-of-control being, No-Face exhibited all the negative traits of those it has swallowed (Most significantly, Aogaeru); becoming a brash, arrogant, loud and selfish creature whose obsession with Chihiro has proved troubling for everyone. Towards the end of the film No-Face meets with Zeniba, another witch that works alone, in comparison to Yubaba that runs a big house with a complex hierarchy. Perhaps attempting to match the rules of the new tiny society, No-Face starts spinning and knitting and appears proficient in that. No longer dangerous, he accepts Zeniba's proposal to stay with her as a worker. No-Face seems to reflect his surroundings in personality. It is the corruption and negative thoughts of The Bathhouse that have made him a dangerous monster."

Remind me of Stephen Gammell's art... I mean, the subject of the images aren't similar but they look similar I think! :>

When I saw that photo it reminded me of the Peaky Blinders cover/poster.

"I have a few anger, macho-yet-wearing-lipstick issues, so now I tend to carry myself in a different way. I wear a three-piece suit, much more of a combination between 1920s hooligan and 1920s hooligan of Ireland. More of a Boardwalk Empire meets Peaky Blinders." - MM. Great observation, and thank you for very much for sharing. Bowie is a personal hero of Manson, and it's always fascinating to see how his inspirations fuel and shape his own work. I'm reminded of how he adopted the prominent Bowie lighting bolt into his *own* during Antichrist Svperstar, and I'm curious about the significance of this blue circle.

The first thing that came to mind was a bullet shot wound, because the first symbol for the era was literally crosshairs on a double MM, and because of the many references to violence and death in this and other albums. It's ironic that Christian America's #1 enemy during the 90's has personified Christ-like/martyrdom imagery in his stage performances and body of work.

I look forward to the day in which these forums or the NACHTKABARETT are granted public interviews for the fans, there are many questions about this era and Born Villain which have been left unanswered.

Skin, of Skunk Anansie's first solo single Faithfulness is lovely, but I only recently watched the video again for the first time since its 2003 release, and noticed a distinct similarity with Deep Six:-

Also, that bassline at 2:40, has a distinctly Twiggy-esque feel to it...

Not that this is necessarily a conscious connection in either case, but it's always fun to note these parallels. Incidentally, Skin and Manson have met before, they accepted awards together at the 1997 Kerrang! Awards. I've got that issue somewhere, shall try and get a picture of me with it.

A 1997 photograph of fashion designer Issey Miyake shot by Irving Penn.
I don't know how this effect was achieved, could be digital or a blurred shot or even water being poured over from above with a fast shutter speed?
