Barely breathing...
..barely holding on

I need to run for cover
Explosions on the horizon
Quakes from the past. . .

Attached to the present
I am frozen.
Pinned.
Dissected.

I can never be whole.
There is a hole here.

of Sadness.

You make my heart smile; stretching, preparation for the

implosion

A good read, can you share your inspirations, if any, for such a piece of work?

This really touches me on an emotional level, "self-proclaimed bunker" in particular. Plus, there is some palpable motion within the poem - the stretching, and the implosion. This post-traumatic feeling is often more resigning than the trauma itself. Thank you for sharing!

You guys are literally the sweetest for taking the time to read and comment <3

Mercurius, yes, the aftermath can be brutal. Hopefully most aren't life-long sentences.

The verdict does not only depend on juror, judge and legislation, but also the behavior of the defendant. ;)
