So... another giant hole in the faux tapestry that is the Colonial American Myth.

Firstly, we know that they didn't "land" on Plymouth Rock, but instead "landed" somewhere in Virginia. Secondly, we know they didn't leave England to "escape persecution"... and all that bollocks about "religious freedom"; but instead the Puritan's traversed across the Atlantic Ocean TO persecute anyone who disagreed with them. Salem Witch Hunt = "escaping persecution" (huh?), and all that shit.

Basic history lesson for everyone in America who has been lied to: Oliver Cromwell allowed the Puritan's to practice all their shit in England in open public. The Puritan's then began murdering and/or mutilating everyone who disagreed with them. Then Queen Elizabeth I came into power and said "enough of this shit!" and tried to get them to toe in line with civilised society. They refused. Instead of renouncing their barbaric ways, they chose to travel to America.

And now, anyone who has the misfortune of being descended directly from these people, you now have the added misfortune of being descended directly from cannibals:

"The first permanent English settlers in North America turned to cannibalism... and the newly discovered bones of a 14-year-old girl offers the first scientific proof."

And all you people thought Marilyn Manson was intelligent. Well, give it up for Melora Creagor (of Rasputina - the band that supported Manson on the Dead to the World tour). She hypothesised all this shit in 1996 and was cast off as being a fruitcake because of it. Now that's the sort of intelligence you should be gettin' behind. 'lright?

"If fantasy is the refuge of the freightened man, and a castle in the air is safe harbour for a foolish few - just imagine living in a hut buried twelve feet below the snow, where the sight and smell of the scattered carcasses of loved ones at your feet is the lay of the land; just another day. I would like to propose that cannibalism was indeed rampant among America's earliest settlers... the pilgrims! For what does 'settler' imply - if not the willingness to settle. To settle for a meal of human flesh if my thoughts on the subject are to be believed! In conclusion, spread the word of this. Look to the night sky and hark back at your forefathers shortcomings - and your own - as you cut your meat and lay the groundwork for a new tomorrow." - Melora Creager.

A teensy skeleton with a squashed alien-like head may have earthly origins, but the remains, found in the Atacama Desert a decade ago, do make for quite a medical mystery.

Apparently when the mummified specimen was discovered, some had suggested the possibility it was an alien that had somehow landed on Earth, though the researchers involved never suggested this otherworldly origin.

PHOTOS: What We Think Martians Look Like
Now, DNA and other tests suggest the individual was a human and was 6 to 8 years of age when he or she died. Even so, the remains were just 6 inches (15 centimeters) long. (See Images of the Alien-Looking Human Remains)

"While the jury is out regarding the mutations that cause the deformity, and there is a real discrepancy in how we account for the apparent age of the bones … every nucleotide I've been able to look at is human," researcher Garry Nolan, professor of microbiology and immunology at Stanford School of Medicine, told LiveScience. "I've only scratched the surface in the analysis. But there is nothing that jumps out so far as to scream 'nonhuman.'"

Analyzing the tiny human

Nolan and his colleagues analyzed the specimen in the fall of 2012 with high-resolution photography, X-rays and computed tomography scans, as well as DNA sequencing. The researchers wanted to find out whether some rare disorder could explain the anomalous skeleton -- for instance it had just 10 ribs as opposed to 12 in a healthy human -- the age the organism died, as its size suggested a preterm fetus, stillborn or a deformed child, and whether it was human or perhaps a South American nonhuman primate.

The remains also showed skull deformities and mild underdevelopment of the mid-face and jaw, the researchers found. The skull also showed signs of turricephaly, or high-head syndrome, a birth defect in which the top of the skull is cone-shaped.

The genome sequencing suggested the creature was human, though 9 percent of the genes didn't match up with the reference human genome; the mismatches may be due to various factors, including degradation, artifacts from lab preparation of the specimen or insufficient data.
This topic is spreading around quite a bit, thought I might share. There's a petition to get her back, and last time I checked it had over 64,000 backers.

Bishop Watterson, a private catholic high school in Columbus Ohio fired a teacher who has been working there for 19 years because.... get this.... an anonymous parent sent a complaint after seeing her partner's name in the teacher's mother's obituary. Yeah.

My best friend actually attended this high school! She graduated in '11, and through her I know some other Watterson people, they're all pretty upset over this.
