Maybe we could do a ROTW Version of Coma White/Black - and kind of arrange it like they did on the tour with the Coma Black outro. I like Devour a lot too, so maybe between these two (or both lol). Mechanical Animals would be the most difficult (though it's the hard) just because it's got the most going on in terms of synth and guitar but I'm up to the challenge if others are.

I should be able to participate, but I won't commit just yet. I'm in the process of finding some equiptment or a place to record some of my own stuff so when I do I will definately be down time and budget permitting. If I do, I will be contributing guitar, and possibly vocals. I concur with Empirical Guy that there should be a Last Day on Earth rendition done. As a matter of fact I was playing it last night, and even at practice this afternoon. So, that'd be cool. Other songs I'd be interested in contributing to, because I have my own improvizations of most Manson songs would be Valentines Day, 15, Panorama, Lamb of God, and well anything really. I know all of the songs. Good idea though! We'll see what happens.

I'd be happy to provide backing vocals, nick cave-esque meets bowie - with synth! Great choice in songs Shangs :)

Oh - with that in mind - perhaps something of a nick cave/tom waits (musically and tempo speaking) approach to a cover? Picking songs out of the top of my head - the Carney (spelling?) Going out West - Jack the Ripper - etc etc

I dunno, just throwing out ideas there

So, we're got more than enough people to cover instruments for a band, all we need to do is agree on a song and we can get this thing off and rolling.

A few people so have concurred on the "Coma" idea... shall we go with that? Once we settle on something I can get going with the drums right away.

I'm down with Coma (ROTW version) or TLDOE as the first song. Don't really have a preference. The question is, do we want to do a straight cover (as in exactly as MM play it) or do we want to put our own spin on it? I could probably come up with some stylized versions of riffs for either that might give the songs a different feel. If we do Coma, it might be cool to do it like ROTW with the Coma Black ending - but maybe take it a bit further and do the full Part B section of Coma Black at the end (I always liked that part a lot).

I would like to put our own spin on whichever track we choose. Keen to do Coma White with the Coma Black outro, always thought that was cool.

Well I don't agree with doing Coma White, but in including Coma Black with it, then yeah, I believe I agree - a change of a style approach.

Coma White/Black would probably be fun, as there is no studio recording of the live version. Perhaps we could edit it some more and add in more parts from Black and maybe make the Coma White part shorter? What about The Dope Show? Classic and I would love to see which kind of effects you guys would use. Or maybe even (s)AINT.

Anywho, I'd be willing to throw in guitar, bass or drum parts. Maybe even some Keys if need to be. I'm an all virtual musician, using midi and decent VSTi's for everything, so the recording quality is pretty much flawless. I also have an E-Drumset which I run through Superior Drummer. I don't want to claim an instrument though, I'm fine with just being a sub or maybe recording the second guitar parts, stuff like that.

I really hope this will work out. There were a few projects like this on the Phant, none of them ever worked out. Same with pretty much all of the other Online Band projects I've been in, and those were a lot. Except for one time.

I agree with blending the Coma's a little more than how they did it live. Coma Black is a bit grittier/darker - so maybe if in addition to playing more of Coma Black, we can retool the Coma White sections to also sound a bit darker. I have a variation idea for the main gtr riff that can be moved to bass (kind of makes it sound a bit like Reflecting God meets Tool) and maybe shifting the instruments around more like that will allows us to do some more unique things on top.

And depending on who's doing vocals, I'm even down for changing the key of the song. Make take it down a few steps in pitch? Like maybe around the tuning A Perfect Circle use (C# standard)?

    Just throwing ideas around.
