Norse, agreed, the LOST soundtrack was amazing and after watching the whole series, I pretty much had a Pavlovian response to cry upon hearing that music.

What I would call a "beautiful" song ranges far and wide, so here's a few different ones for your earholes:

    Devin Townsend, Terminal -

and Infinite Ocean (sudden start/ stop kind of ruins the vibe on this one, as the whole album pretty much flows track to track, but anyway...)

and then somehow the same guy manages to come out with this, equally as beautiful, Juular -

In This Moment, The Promise. Gets me every time -

and finally, yes I consider this beautiful too. Fleshgod Apocalypse, The Violation -
My avatar looks like a mix of NIN, My Chemical Romance, and Chris Vrenna

Sinead O'Connor ~ "Reason With Me"

My latest beautiful song. I've been falling asleep to this for the past three nights. I'm not a fan of hers at all, but there's something about this song that really speaks to me.

    Gavin Bryars & Tom Waits

    Nirvana

There is plenty of music in my collection to name, but I would most highly suggest the album Dead Lovers' Sarabande (Face One) by Sopor Aeternus & the Ensemble of Shadows. That album is unspeakably beautiful from start to finish and a Gothic masterpiece to boot.

The Innocence Mission ~ "Morningside" on soundcloud.

Don Peris is one of my favourite guitarists of all time. That song I've linked to is a recording he made just to check the levels on his bloody mic one evening, but that doesn't stop it being one of the sweetest, most beautiful things I've heard in a long time.

I used get drunk and just bawl my eyes out to this whole album, but this one song in particular - especially toward the end. Holy fuck. This live version is amazing.

Charles Bradley. This song reminds me of what I used to feel like about stuff and stuff. Kind of a bummer to think about it, but it's so damn beautiful.
