I must say that the Democrat party has benefited me the most, but both parties aren't perfect in the slightest. When we're left with the option of choosing between the least worst political party over the worst every election year, how can anyone call that democracy? We can vote for other parties, but most vote for Democrat or Republican because they've been doing it every 4 years- regardless of who's running or what they promise to do for us. No other party is going to be able to overcome when the people who actually vote believe that voting for another party would be "pointless," because a Democrat or a Republican is going to be elected anyway. Just another reason why voting and the two-party system will always fail to meet everyone's needs; especially since most people don't even vote. They either just don't care, or they don't want to participate because they believe their vote won't change anything. You could say if everyone actually voted, there might be another party that would come to rise that meets everyone's needs. I'd like to see that happen, but I doubt it ever will because the popularity contest between the two parties and the laziness of the American people will prevail.
