This is likely to happen if he doesn't promote/release a new single/video.

can you provide some proof of this? I'm unsure either way since I didn't pay a whole lot of attention to anything other than what I saw on mm.com, so I'd be curious to know how Cooking Vinyl chose to market the album.

I've seen a few ads for it on websites. That's about all I'm aware of as far as CVs role. We all know they had a strategy that Manson knocked off course with the kroq debut but that seems to have gotten the album a little bit of prerelease buzz because it happened out of nowhere. They managed to keep it from leaking so that the reaction was more concentrated to around the same time. But the best marketing was Manson himself who stepped it up in interviews just before and since the release. The "Lebeouf clip" got a bit of interest stirred the previous year, too. Not the best marketing campign ever but i'd call it better than THEOL's by a fair measure.

I'd say Cooking Vinyl actually did a pretty decent job of marketing the album so far. Generally, there's been quite an amount of buzz going around in certain circles for a while now. They even did a good job of promoting it mainstream. I've seen advertisements [the album cover taking up like a quarter of a page] in certain newspapers here in Ireland - "The New Album. Out April 27.", that sort of stuff.

And did anyone else see Manson's face on that VidZone thing on their PS3? For anyone who doesn't have a PS3, if you have it connected to your WiFi, the first thing you see when you switch it on is the "What's New" tab, and they were running a promo for a new music video service called VidZone there. And it had an EMDM-era photo of Manson on it. I actually downloaded the damn thing because of it, but it was fairly useless. They didn't even have No Reflection on there. But, still, how many people switch on their PS3's every day? A couple million? So, for a week, Manson's face was the first thing they saw. That alone was pretty decent promo, that I'm sure Interscope would've never bothered their asses with.

Edit: Click here for proof that this happened. Huh, it was actually one of the new photos. I swore it was one of the EMDM-era vampire-looking photos. Oh well. And it turns out, they did have the No Reflection video... somewhere. It wasn't with the rest of his videos at the time. So... I was wrong about all the actual details... but at least it happened.

Haha, they have something siimilar on xbox, but they had a pic of the NR cover up with "Check out this provocative artist" underneath. They had all of his videos except No Reflection.

^ It seems that every few internet pages I visit, his face is somewhere to be found.

Click here. If you don't see the BV cover on your first go, click on any random article, then hit the back button (refreshing only seems to bring the same ad up over and over again).

His face is everywhere. CV are definitely doing a decent job on this one.

I've noticed that (the proliferation of his photo on seemingly random pages) as well.

That's likely only because you're Marilyn Manson fans, searching his name and searching Manson related websites often, you will get ads for what you search.

The other ads, however, like in newspapers and things, seem like genuine promotion to me and that is great to hear.

I took a photo of the PS3 thing and put it on the PM social networks, the NR video showed up as the first video to play for me when I went to either new videos or when I searched MM.
