    Default Brian's Future

Marilyn Manson recently talked about his belief that people can visit other time periods in their dreams. And that got me thinking, mostly because it reminded me of things he's said in the past. I remember in 1996 he said that Antichrist Svperstar was his "life story past, present, and future." And recently he's said that in a dream a long time ago, he visited a recent day to today and heard Born Villain and was thus inspired to write Antichrist Svperstar. And Manson said he doesn't believe in coincidence, and that he believes everything has a purpose.

Anyways, given my understanding of Antichrist Svperstar, I've been thinking about if Manson has always thought [knew] that he is going to be killed by somebody / some people; that he would become a well-known figure loved by many and hated by others who would become a martyr through the TV.

Even in pre-ACSS songs he's written about this sort of thing:

If I don't wear this shirt, they're going to make me dead. The shirt says, "I'm part of the boys' club."

    -- No Class
One day, people are going to make me dead.

    -- Meat for a Queen
And I'm sure there are more examples, but those two examples are off the top of m head.

Anyways, does anyone share with Manson his beliefs about purpose, fate, and dreams?
And what are your thoughts about a martyrdom of Manson in the future?
Desire is pain, eating away the worm in the brain ... Frontiers are coming down between body and soul, abrasive, insane, putting away the spark in the brain. Our flesh burns in mysterious ways.

Like the first of sins, there is no one to blame. The earth grew wet on the seventh day. And we sit down for a feast of hate. We eat each other in a twist of fate.

I've had a dream where Manson was killed shortly before the scariest paranormal experience of my entire life. I make none of this up. I won't get into the details (school night, it'd take forever to write and even then it wouldn't be accurate). It occurred with me and a very close former friend who was also in the room, but it was all preceded by us both having strange dreams and being awoken at the same time by a violent jerking. My dream was of Manson being killed by some lunatic Christian protester(s?).

I don't think Manson literally expects to die in any relevant manner. I think the death thing in his lyrics is mostly there to identify himself with the "antichrist" figure. Whether or not he actually believes any of those sort of things, he has totally owned them as his own symbols.

Despite there being a lack of a source for the belief, many people believe that this "antichrist" guy is supposed to die and come back to life, paralleling the story of Jesus' resurrection and that whole thing. As he said in TLHROOH, he felt gypped that these stories of the antichrist weren't really in scripture and decided to give the people what they wanted, since they had come up with this idea themselves.

I think Manson believes he can forge the future he wants through sheer willpower. I don't know that he's wrong. So, while I absolutely do not believe that he can see the actual future, I do believe that he saw the future that he wanted and has been working to create it.

I see Manson's interpretation of 666 as a representation of past, present and future. The past has always been, from our point of view, "Brian Warner" which has a numerical value of 6, the present is "Marilyn Manson" which also has a value of 6, leaving the "future" character "Antichrist Superstar" which is also 6. I think he did this on purpose. It seems unlikely to be a coincidence. At any rate it shows that, at least at the time, he saw ACSS as being the endgame of his career, the point to which all else ends up flowing.

The fact that he has been picking up these old threads lately says to me that he is ready to start bringing it all back around and closing the loop. He's talking ACSS again lately. He's mentioning the novel. I think he's always had his whole career outlined to some degree and I think the rockstar phase is almost over. If I had to guess what the next phase would be I would guess film, since that's been almost as much a theme in his work as the antichrist motif. I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't end up filming the dreams he saw back when he wrote ACSS and claiming that the film was what he originally saw.

So maybe the death of "Marilyn Manson" will just be metaphoric as that persona is shed. Perhaps he'll end up doing even more powerful work when he moves onto the third phase, whatever that may end up being.

As soon as I saw "Brian" I immediately skipped the entire body of this thread to be-low and say "Brian Warner died in 1996".

My friend just discovered Manson and is going through an obsessive phase, she got "I LOVE BRIAN WARNER" printed on a shirt.
I punched her in the face.
We are no longer friends- wah.

I sort of believe it myself that, everything that happens has a purpose and a part in a future event. I also personally do believe in fate to some extent. These are all things that one can feel at times in their own personal lives at some point, in recent events etc. So whatever Manson felt about himself is probably correct for him, and I'd say its pretty much impossible to 'share' that belief with him since its out of our scope to know what those beliefs exactly are. I do believe though that Manson is a pretty normal person and doesn't personally dwell on such things much. That's my belief. The thoughts he had about his future are probably like thoughts people have about their future when they start thinking about it.

And I have no thoughts about Manson's martyrdom in the future. Though I'll say a crazy fan murder can't entirely be ruled out since there is no shortage of crazies in the MM fan world.
