I would LOVE to hear Manson do a rendition of People are Strange in a GAOG style.

Marilyn Manson might not be actually performing any Doors songs. The Sunset Strip Music Festival usually "honors" the main band, i.e. Motley Crue last year, that Thursday night at the House of Blues - Sunset. The rest is just to celebrate Sunset in itself. The Whisky, Roxy, Viper Room, and Key Club will all be open along with the two outdoor stages with music going simultaneously. Over 100 bands within one day, and the big names are on the outdoor stages.

Friday nights tend to have sort of big name bands perform at the venues named above, but I don't remember any of them at this point.

Edit: This just in. Peter Murphy is slated to headline the Roxy on Thursday, Aug. 16th.
Friday, Aug. 18th, The RZA will be headlining The Key Club.

^ Manson's (non-screaming) voice is well-suited for The Doors so I'm betting there will be Doors songs included in the performance.

^Who knows. Just saying that Sunset honors the band that Thursday. Doesn't mean every single band will be covering a Doors song.

Thursday, Aug. 18th, Jack Russell's Great White ft. Faster Pussycat, Bullet Boys, and Pretty Boy Floyd at The Whisky A Go-Go.

Since he's covered two Doors songs, I would think he would definitely do at least one Doors cover live for this. However, since the setlist has been so disappointingly stagnant and he's clearly not interested in spicing things up anymore, I doubt it will even happen. Really a shame. Seeing him live on this tour, the vocals and band were great, but honestly at least 50% of the setlist is basically set in stone at this point for every single show and tour. How exciting can that really be to anyone who is not attending their first MM concert?

definitely agree about the setlist. if i had any complaints about this tour, that would be it. with the wealth of material he has to choose from would really like to see him change things up a bit more. i realize he has to perform his "hits" but certainly there's room to throw in some of the more obscure material that's rarely or never been played before.

^ What you're forgetting is the Sunset Strip Music Festival isn't part of the band's official Hey Cruel World tour.

The Doors FB page just posted this!
Rumor has it Ray and Robby might join Black Label Society and Marilyn Manson for the all-star tribute to The Doors at Sunset Strip Music Festival. Do you have your tickets? http://www.sunsetstripmusicfestival.com/

Very happy MM is playing at nite because it's been hot here the last few days and wasn't looking forward to being junked around by Teena in 80+ weather.

Manson will perform a few Doors songs with keyboardist Ray Manzarek and guitarist Robbie Krieger this Saturday.

What songs are you performing together?
Marilyn Manson: Apparently it’s "People Are Strange" and "Love Me Two Times."

Ray Manzarek: Or maybe we’ll do "Five To One."

Manson: If you want to do "Five To One" I’ll do that.

Manzarek: Let's try them all. Can we do three?

Manson: Yes. My father is traveling from Ohio to see this.
