I find little appeal in continuing the tradition of some fairytale monarchy, or traditional romanticism as you called it, in general. Especially at the expense of taxpayer funds, which is what really put them over the edge for me to begin with. These people do nothing for anyone besides satisfy that fantasy that people cling to from days long gone. I prefer progressing as a world, not stick ourselves securely in the past. Royal families are just another example of us not willing to let go of meaningless traditions, but on a grander and more wasteful scale. These people are handed everything on a silver platter their entire lives, and I can't respect them in the slightest for that. The fact that masses of people get so wrapped up in whatever this family does, which is nothing of actual use, makes their role in our world even more abhorrent. They are pointless.

I feel the same about all royal families, but the British one gets the highest celebrity appeal lending to their inclusion in my list. I don't expect anything to be done, they are just agitating really.

I get that train of thought insofar as no longer funding them with public money, but when people say "they are pointless" or, as I have heard others say in the past "we should do away with the royal family"... I mean, what does that mean? You can't do away with a bloodline without killing them all. You can stop giving them a handout, but the royal family will still exist as long as they keep breeding. Someone, somewhere, will be carrying the royal blood, it's not something you can just erase.
I get that that isn't necessarily what you're calling for, but for some people it is and that's always confused me. Anyway, you're American, you gave up the royals in that whole Revolutionary War thing you guys pulled. Leave other country's monarchies out of it, or we'll make you get rid of your President... although I'm sure some Americans wouldn't mind that either.

Go ahead. Wouldn't mind in the least. There's nothing I like about the current president, the candidates running against him, or that figurehead position in general. We are getting nowhere politically due to constant back and forth between the parties over this, and it's blinding the masses from some real issues going on. (This might be an entire separate thread, altogether) Lol @ the Revolutionary War comment.

In general though, I find most celebrities so boring that I can barely remember their names. Only a few really grab my attention. But to just to name some that I really can't stand:

Jersie Shore dickwads.

Usher - hate that guy.

LMFAO - I sort of like their music in a specific setting - with insanely drunk/high friends in a club-like setting maybe. I absolutely abhor how these guys look though. Enough to mention them in this thread.

The guys from Slipknot - I remember watching some of their interviews years ago where they just came off as sugarcoating "We're just trying to scam teenagers, by taking advantage of their raging hormones in the easiest ways possible". Needless to say, their music is testament to that.
