I saw the tribute online and it was one of the highlights of the show, I felt. I'm really interested in how the choice was made to omit that sequence.
Iggy I completely understand why you would bring that up - however that is a separate memorial - important I understand, but in this case it was a part of our opening ceremony, it was a piece of the "show" so to speak and yet NBC decided to cut it and have given no adequate reason as to why.Originally Posted by iggy
What is laughable though is Bob Costas of NBC chided the IOC (who have for the past 40 years decided against any memorial) and yet his network pull this tribute - it was not an in your face moment - it was a beautiful song and dance.

I love the Olympics, my only grievance with the opening is I haven't seen so much editing and quick cuts since the The Blair Witch Project. I was like who the fuck is directing this, Ed Wood? I expected more from a 14 billion dollar production besides a cacophony of flashing lights and whistles. I could of dropped 20 hits of acid on a sugar cube went to a Pink Floyd concert and got that for like $80 bucks. GYPPED!
