Were "The Doors" actually a great band?

It depends on who you ask. There are a bunch of bands that are classified as legends, but every person has a different taste. I do enjoy a few songs from The Doors, and the same can be said for Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Pink Floyd, so on and so forth, but all of them all sound completely different from one another. I'm a huge fan of The Rolling Stones over the bands I listed because it connects to me more. Sure, some one can try to persuade me to listen more to the ones mentioned, but there's a certain sound that I enjoy, and that is of The Rolling Stones.

tl:dr - Different strokes for different folks.

His musical impressions are always pretty good. I'm not a football fan at all, but even I found this one pretty amusing.

In all honesty, I've found a lot of people have had this attitude towards The Doors. Make no mistake, not every song from The Doors is good but the good ones are fucking amazing.

It's always dependant on whom you ask. For example I understand The Beatles, understand the hype BUT for me they weren't what I could say a great band, unless you take The White Album.

For me, The Doors were brilliant. I love the poetry, the theatrics, the genius that is Ray Manzerek. I've been a fan since I was 14. They were a band I got into simply because I picked the "No one gets out of here alive" book - the poetry and the story of Jim Morrison fascinated me. I picked up as many albums as I could. I still love them now.

Of course they won't appeal to everyone but wouldn't it be a boring world if we all liked the same thing
