    I'm not sure I understand. Are you saying a musician can't also be a successful artist, or vice versa? That you have to be one or the other?

    As far as the "alcoholics" can't be successful rock musicians, you can't be serious. When he was "taken seriously" as a musician, he would have been classified as an addict by every health professional out there.
