I see them as similar in that they're the same style of Blues tune
I am your vulture, your immoral sculpture, mirrorman who understands. I know you. I am you, your fantasy, reality.

Don't be surprised I can look you in the eye. It's hard to take you serious when you take me inside.

How the fuck are we supposed to know when I'm a monster in the way you refuse to die? How the fuck are we supposed to know if we're in love or if we're in pain?

    Let's be honest here:

"Are You The Rabbit?" and every other piece of instrumentation on Eat Me, Drink Me is Skold's music, not Manson's. Love the guy and the lyrics are his, but the guitar work? That was all Skold.

I think the combination of the two made a really good album, very dark, very moody, very romantic and moving in its own way. I can remember how I felt still after listing to it for the first time (still always good, but the first time you play something like a new Manson album... Well there's something special about it).

Anyway, back to my point. Most people hate that album, so why is it everyone seems to blame Manson for it instead of Skold? -Are people really saying it was the lyrics that just did not match anything? I think that's complete none sense if that's the case, works and tunes flow together beautifully I think.

-But maybe it's the theme of the album people don't like which is love/romance, no matter how you slice it. Then if that's the case, maybe that has contributed to the Wonderland film getting closeted, because they are both Wonderland-ish themed, right? I don't buy the "no film company will release it" bit, because Manson said he was going to release it on his website. No one needs approval to post porn (or porn-like...) videos on their websites as long as it's got an "what age are you?" thing required to be answered before viewing. At least that's my understand of that.

It's fine if a band has similar sounding songs.

But my issue with this is that Skold wrote almost all of the music to EMDM and at the time Manson praised him ceaselessly talking about how great of a job he did, how much the music fit what he was trying to do and how for the first time ever he didn't feel a need to give a bandmate direction but found Skold doing the opposite at times (he even talked in a 'Phant interview about the title track being something Skold wrote and showed MM and he considered having it be an instrumental end to the album; so the music came before the lyrics often on that album).

    Then Twiggy came back.

All of a sudden, Skold is this piece of shit who, to quote Manson, "wrote from the wallet" and did nothing good to contribute to Manson and how oh, EMDM is this awful record I can not play live again since it sucked, etc. etc. He really shafted Skold all of a sudden after being really praising of his work. It was low, cheap and shitty on all accounts.

So for him to then have a very similar sounding song built around a song written by a guy he just kicked to the side and talked shit about, when it's similar to a song from an album he acts like never happened, it's really lame and really pathetic to me.

Well, to be fair, Kleiner, Manson did say that he is proud of Eat Me, Drink Me, but he doesn't want to play it due to its emotional effect on him...at least that's what I thought...

No one ever said this, but I always suspected that they weren't really playing a lot of material from EM,DM and GAOG because Twiggy didn't want to.

It made sense during the RoTW because that was basically the "Welcome Back Twiggy" tour and of course they would want to focus on songs that they had written together.

But I wouldn't be surprised, since it's continued this far after, if Twiggy just didn't have the guitar skills to play through the solos.

I have said this before. He has played If I Was Your Vampire, but that is a very easy song to play. It would be awesome to see them play Putting Holes In Happiness again, but I am pretty certain Twiggy is not capable. It's also probably something both Manson and Twiggy don't see in their catalog when deciding on sets.
