Now he's just too fuckin' bored...

EDIT: This was a great interview, I thought. Manson managed to say the same things differently enough that it was interesting. Thinking back to The High End of Low era and the way Manson would dress and talk, he reminds me of a Patrick Bateman-esque character in a sense. Just the tie and formal wear with the knife, I suppose. His quote about Marilyn Manson Vs. Brian Warner was great, though.

A whole lot of half assed questions from interviewers who don't know a thing about the artist. Every time he's asked about a certain thing he's done in a video, or some major event, he stops repeating himself and covers new ground! Those are the kind of questions that should be asks. It bothers the hell out of me.
One of the great ironies of Marilyn Manson is that one of the reasons he wanted to become a rock star was he felt he could give better answers than the rock stars he was interviewing as a journalist. But, now he's on the other side of the microphone, the boring answers have become boring questions.

I really wish he was more interactive with his fans again. I mean, more than any other artist, there is such a depth of topics to cover. There's such a wealth of mystery revolving certain projects and relationships. If he just opened his website up to fan submitted questions and answered, even 5 of them, it would be far better than any interview in years.

^ Let's hope the fans (in this hypothetical situation) would ask better questions than the majority of reporters who have interviewed him over the years. If you want better answers, ask better questions.

"I’m thinking about entering a Marilyn Manson costume contest to see if I lose."

I loved that. I also think he would actually lose because the winner would be someone who looked exactly like Manson 15 years ago, not someone who looks like current Manson.

I think it's safe to assume that the majority of people who read the Time Out Chicago isn't as interested in MM as we are. Why would a reporter who has other interviews to conduct go to the trouble of researching recent, previous interviews trying to uncover something new and interesting for the hardcore fans? It'll be read with the same sort of casual interest by the average reader. PLUS, the stuff we want to know about could well bore the pants off the majority of the readers who will be more interested in the usual, obvious questions.
