    Default Korean Pop Music

*If your gonna waffle on about how Gangnam Style is a piece of shit then:
    *

I have liked Korean pop now for maybe like a year now & I made this thread so people could discuss it. If you don't know what it is than read the rest. These are the main & most popular South Korean acts:

Girls Generation are arguably the biggest of them. Kinda crappy in my opinion. It's unlikely that they'll make it over here since they already made an english single that flopped. They even performed on Letterman.

These guys piss me off. Go on YouTube & you'll figure out all their MV's are the same.

This is a group that I actually like. Love this video.

Not one of the main groups but my favourite & one of the best K-pop videos ever.
& the one you've all heard. Used to like it but it gets on my man tits.

The best record label is YG (BIGBANG, 2NE1, PSY). Their acts have the most potential to make it here. Infact one of them has. The difference between Korean music & US pop is that there is not many Korean acts that lip-sync. They actually sing. Everything seems to be another step ahead with Korean music.

yeah this is fucking garbage too - it would be like taking the Backstreet Boys seriously past the age of 16. asian pop acts do a pretty good job of coating their shit in top quality glitter wrapping paper so I'll give them props for that.

    Why Korean Pop Music?

What about Bavarian Bluegrass Music? Or Iraqi Metal?

    I kid, I kid.

Maybe - it depends how involved you are in internet popular culture. Some people are just now hearing it about it.

Btw, there was a Korean horror movie made about this fictional pop group.

This is THE ONLY soundtrack to that movie..

Plot: Dead popstar that has a song lyrics sheet unfinished decides to be plagiarized by that pop group and shit happens to the rest of them if they listen to that song over and over again. Kinda like the Ring except it's in subliminal music form. Fairly nice movie.

Only one of Manson's albums is not brilliant (High End of Low) and even that has a bunch of great songs on it. Born Villain kicks ass, so he had the "passion" to recently create that. And what the fuck is it with this scenester shit regarding Korean pop music? Does the new generation of Manson (non)fans even appreciate all of the real classics out there?

I don't listen to it too much... I do love the song Gee, and I came across this video on the side of Gangnam Style and enjoy it:
