Gowan - A Criminal Mind
I'd like him to cover this.
It's the theme to the show Snuff Box. Some of you may have heard it in Dredd recently.
Easy. The best song in the entire galaxy, of course.
Pink Floyd- Mother
My avatar looks like a mix of NIN, My Chemical Romance, and Chris Vrenna
Queen- Bohemian Rhapsody or We Are The Champions
and
Michael Jackson-- Billy Jean or Beat it. Using John 5's kick ass guitar tracks.
Oh, and a professional recording of Cheap Tricks "Surrender", because that live cover was fucking awesome!
...it would also be cool to hear him cover more of his childhood favorites. Like Judas Priest and KISS
One cool thing about many of his covers is that he chose songs that fit with the anti-hero aspect of his career. Like Surrender, Rock N Roll Nigger, Dr Hook (should have done Freakin and the Freakers Ball by Dr Hook)
That being said, why not cover more in-your-face anthems with a message or point. Like Twisted Sisters "We're Not Gonna Take It". That song gets a lot of flack, and I'm not really sure why. People think it's funny or something...maybe because of the music video? It's a straight up rebel song. There are a few other powerful songs with a point of "fuck you if you try to change me" by Twisted Sister. Like "I am, I'm Me" and "I'll Never Grow Up Now"
"Rebel Rebel" by Bowie would be cool. Or even the Bowie/NIN cover of "I'm Afraid of Americans".
Anything by GG Allin.
The white supremacy racist girls that pay in Prussian Blue. That would be funny. Something by them. Maybe "Skinhead Boi"
"Lola" by The Kinks
A dark sweet dreams-esque version of "Crimson and Clover" would be really fucking cool
"What A Wonderful World" by Louis Armstrong would be cool...would have fit nicely on Golden Age of Grotesque.
Any 60s powerful anti-war hippie fuck you song would be cool. Like "Eve of Destruction" by Barry McGuire
The 60s song "In The Year 2525" would have worked perfectly for Mechanical Animals. That would be cool
And finally, as a change of pace from something that is a "rock/pop" song.... An absolutely beautiful, poetic song with a sad point that would be perfect would be Harry Chapin's "Flowers Are Red". If you haven't heard this song, look it up!
