Default The Golden Age Of Grotesque Visual Parallels

The layouts & typefaces used in GAOG are reminiscent of Voluptuous Panic by Mel Gordon, which I later found out inspired the album to begin with, so there ye go. A decent book from the super hip Feral House.

Childcatcher from chitty chitty bang bang/SLC cover, aladdin sane/MA, blah blah

Also this is a really weird one that I have never heard anyone else mention - There are diagrams in the Holy Wood booklet that also appear in the booklet for "Machina" by the Pumpkins... The alchemical ones specifically

I believe that there is some links made between those in things that have been submitted at The Nachtkabarett main site. Essentially they both draw from the same alchemical sources, though I am not certain how far Billy Corgan has invested himself into the concepts outside of that album.

Probably not at all, just using the concept of alchemy for thematic resonance or something, egghead probably thinks of himself as gold that he has created using the alchemy of his art, maan

I think the Groucho Marx image is fantastic Norsefire, thank you for putting it up. There was some stuff on The Beatles I was going to mention, which reminds me, do you still have the images from your Jim Morrison comparison?

I might have, I am on my laptop right now and its new so I don't have much on it, I had those above saved in my photobucket account. I had actually forgot about that one though. I should have some others somewhere.

This image was used as the cover for a book called Mickey Mouse, Hitler, and Nazi Germany - How Disney's Characters Conquered The Third Reich, by an author called Carsten Laqua. Interesting to note is that another of Laqua's books was a collaboration entitled Donald Duck ...Und Die Ente Ist Mensch Geworden, alongside none other than Gottfried Helnwein...
