Default Your Favourite Song On THE PALE EMPEROR?

Because it has to be done, and I did it for Born Villain.

Tough choice. I'd have to rank them in order like this:

    Cupid
    Slave
    Odds
    Killing Strangers
    TMOLA
    Deep Six
    Warship
    TDOASDB
    Birds of Hell
    Devil Beneath

And it was VERY tough to make that list. I absolutely fucking love Cupid. Easily one of my favorite Manson songs ever. Just so awesome.

A (very tentative) list from me. I'll go into it further in depth once I've had more time to digest it.

    "The Mephistopheles Of Los Angeles"
"Slave Only Dreams To Be King"
    "Killing Strangers"
    "Cupid Carries A Gun"
    "Deep Six"
    "The Devil Beneath My Feet"
    "Birds Of Hell Awaiting"
    "Warship My Wreck"
"The Third Day Of A Seven Day Binge"
    "Odds Of Even"
This may seem a little biased towards the heavier material on the record, but rest assured that everything here clicks for me, soft and hard alike.

Odds Of Even was my second choice then after that it changes everyday

Third today is Birds Of Hell Awaiting..

I see this album being one maybe his best for me over time.

I guess I'll throw in my favs. It will undoubtedly change in years to come but this is the current list.

    Slave (My absolute favorite)
    KS
    TMOLA
    Deep Six
    Cupid
    Odds
    Third Day

I'll add that my MAJOR favorite and the song I've had on repeat all fucking day is Slave Only Dreams to be King. It's my absolute favorite. I love all the songs on the album but those are favorites and absolute favorite.

A system organized around the weakest qualities of individuals will produce these same qualities in its leaders.

Too early to say, but I think itīs Third Day Of A Seven Day Binge. Very good vocal on a neat sheets on riffs. You can dance to it.

I can't rank them individually but I can group them together relative to quality.

    These are the top 4:
    Killing Strangers
    Odds of Even
    The Mephistopheles of Los Angeles
    Cupid Carries a Gun

These are pretty solid songs, really enjoy them:
    Deep Six
Third Day of a Seven Day Binge

These are also enjoyable but with some flaws:
    Warship My Wreck
    The Devil Beneath My Feet
Slave Only Dreams to Be King

Not bad, but the least interesting to me:
    Birds of Hell Awaiting

I'd challenge you on "The Devil Beneath My Feet". Manson has never done a song like it before - the only one even comparable with it is "You And Me And The Devil Make 3" off EMDM, and this is still very different. When I listened to it the first time, I thought the closing verse - the a cappella "I got the Devil beneath my feet!" was a tad goofy, but you know? It totally works.

I get the sense that this song is the biggest 'grower' on the album, but I've had it on repeat all night and I think it's just a great song. Very fun, and defiant in a lighthearted way.

I think I had read somewhere that Manson had likened one song to Prince; I'm guessing this is the one? I actually really like the pop-element that "The Devil Beneath My Feet" has. It has a pleasant warmth and atmosphere to it as well.

I generally do not like the "don't need a motherucker lookin' down on me" line and the way he delivers the last line. Other than that, it's a great song.
