Default "Mother Mary miscarry": a Manson Family connection

Most fans take this line in "Great Big White World" - rightfully, I think - as a reference to the Virgin Mary and the symbolism of an aborted Christ. But there's also a more prosaic, Charles Manson reference in this lyric which might be intentional and which has seeming gone unnoticed.

From the dramatis personae at the beginning of Vincent Bugliosi's Helter Skelter

Brunner, Mary Theresa, aka Marioche, Och, Mother Mary, Mary Manson, Linda Dee Moser, Christine Marie Euchts. First girl to join the Manson Family; had a son by Manson; involved in the Hinman murder and the Hawthorne shoot-out.
Nothing major or groundbreaking, but it adds a certain topical resonance to that lyric, deliberate or not. Marilyn Manson is so steeped in the lore of the Manson Family that it's hard to see this being unintentional synchronicity. Mechanical Animals has the fewest overt references to Charles Manson of the Triptych, so I like to think this is intentional.

To revenge the misdeeds of the ruling class, there existed in the middle ages, in Germany, a secret tribunal, called the “Vehmgericht.” If a red cross was seen marked on a house, people knew that its owner was doomed by the “Vehm.”

All the houses of Europe are now marked with the mysterious red cross.
