    Default Sociopaths/Psychopaths

Did you ever meet a sociopath/psychopath?

    Did you ever date one?

    Did the person change you?

How long did it take for you to realise that your new friend, or lover was a sociopath/psychopath?.......ETC!

    Just share your thoughts here.

I did have a friend once who was a sociopath, the person was always nice to me so it was difficult for me to end the friendship.

The only real reason we set up Provider Module was to give Sociopaths and Psychopaths somewhere to talk.

Pyschopaths :Suffers from Antisocial personality disorder (ASPD); lack of empathy or conscience, delusional.
    Sociopath: Antisocial personality disorder (ASPD).
Origin of illness Psychologists generally use the term psychopathy to imply an innate condition of the individual. It's derived from the nature part of the nature vs. nurture debate. The term sociopathy generally implies that environmental factors, such as upbringing, have played a role in the development of the ASPD.

This is a good post and I have dealt with both types of individuals. I have had some of the most heart dropping moments (from being scared shitless) to dealing with an ex standing in my room in the pitch black with a rose to confess his undying love (had to get rid of that shit right quick).

Maybe we're born with it? Maybe it's insanity.

"This is the area that controls aggression, concentration and regulates impulse control. Psychopaths also have shrunken amygdala the seat of the brain that controls emotion. That explains their lack of empathy, remorse or guilt when they hurt others.

    First: Thank you.

Second: I'm interested in sociopaths and psychopaths because I'm interessted in all aspects of life.

Third: Psychopaths tends to be born, while sociopaths tend to be made by their environment.

Fourth: My childhood home was full of books because my Father had his own bookstore, so yes I do read, not as much as my Father did though, but every now and then I really enjoy reading. - I guess you ask me this question because you want to recommend a book for me?

    You can't generalize here.

I don't think they are smarter than the majority, I just think they are more selfish. - You should also remember that there's a lot of different types of intelligence.

A successful life is an individual concept. The buddhist feels like a success when he has inner peace, while the materialist feels like a success when he has lots of money etc. - So what one person consider a successful life might be a shitty life for another, and vice versa.
