"Fundamentally Loathesome" builds really nicely but it doesn't have the emotional potency or resonance of "Disassociative." I think both the lyrics and the music in the latter are stellar. It makes me feel like I was sealed into a ziplock bag with the misery of everyone in the entire world. Like a dead astronaut in space.

"The Nobodies". "Disassociative" is an amazing track, but nothing can top the fairy tale narrative of "The Nobodies". It's one of the most socially resonant songs Manson's written, and the music video is elegant in a way that very few are from him or any other artist. The fact it hasn't been performed live in the better part of a decade is inexcusable.

"The Nobodies" vs. "The Nobodies (2005 Against All Gods Mix)"
To revenge the misdeeds of the ruling class, there existed in the middle ages, in Germany, a secret tribunal, called the “Vehmgericht.” If a red cross was seen marked on a house, people knew that its owner was doomed by the “Vehm.”

All the houses of Europe are now marked with the mysterious red cross.

I prefer the original version personalIy. I don't like how the bass got taken out of the verses.

That's a tough choice, but I'm gonna choose The Death Song. I even like the live version almost as much as the album version.

The Death Song i think. No Reflection is one of his stronger post Eat Me Drink Me singles, and is one of my favorite songs on Born Villain, but it doesn't have anywhere near the same amount of energy as The Death Song.

The Death Song is a sardonic ballad of the controllable youth, it's quite biblical, and the electronic guitar in the chorus, and the pop up-beat is great, I never get tired of listening to it, and the ending of a sample I have tried forever to find, it's great.

"Born Again". The track reminds me quite a bit of the 'Alpha' tracks on Mechanical Animals - particularly "I Want To Disappear" - with its cynical lyrics and Manson's higher-pitched delivery. It's not a side of Manson we really get to see much of. I think "Born Again" could have been an effective single; it's catchy as Hell. "The Death Song" is great also, but tonally it kind of blends into the rest of the album. "Born Again" is unique.

    For that matter,

Born Again. Lyrics of self-naming, and knowing you'll be back and "make everybody pay", and the pop sound is great, another favorite of mine. Perfect place on the album. IWTD is great too, didn't know it was only over 2 mins.

Born again. I like the rythm of the song, but it's definitely none of my favorite songs but love the guitar on this one.
