Default Elon Musk: "A Universal Basic Income is going to be necessary."

This, in essence, is going to be the strategy of Capital going forward: its right hand will crush existing working-class forms of identity and organization (in the guise of attacking minority ethnic groups, who are about the only groups in Western society still to retain traditional forms of organization outside the hegemony of Capital). Its left hand, then, will swoop in and offer us "salvation" in the guise of transfer payments to replace those benefits currently available - no food stamps, but money to buy food; no rent control, but money to pay rent.

Liberal capitalist interests - IT, the "Green" sector, import-oriented industries - are as worthless as conservative ones. Fuck Elon Musk.

To revenge the misdeeds of the ruling class, there existed in the middle ages, in Germany, a secret tribunal, called the “Vehmgericht.” If a red cross was seen marked on a house, people knew that its owner was doomed by the “Vehm.”

All the houses of Europe are now marked with the mysterious red cross.

This idea is still circulating in the capitalist press, and now they intend to invoke the name of Marx to justify a welfare capitalist programme he would have deplored.

I'll leave it to the Soviet history buffs to critique the article on those grounds, but this excerpt absolutely infuriated me.

... Already, we're seeing demands for a more redistributive state. Ideas like universal basic income, which the Netherlands and Finland are experimenting with, are close in spirit to Marx's vision of Communism's ability to supply the wants of all - "from each according to his ability, to each according to his need."
Not only no, but fuck no. A universal basic income has nothing whatsoever to do with the Marxist philosophy. They're trying to saddle Marxism with it now to deflect the blame from themselves when it fails.

I'm not typically a fan of Third Worldists, but Jason Unruhe nails it.
