    Let's make something clear,
we're all recording this as it happens.
    No diamond-bullet storefront-blood-bank,
    splinters and stained glass.

We don't need to move a single prayer-bone
    dodge/burn
    so high and sub-low
We don't need to move a single prayer-bone
    Hi-def is still life.

"So what's a nice place like this,
    doing 'round people like us?"
"So what's a nice place like this,
    doing 'round people like us?"

WE KNOW WHERE YOU F***G LIVE
WE KNOW WHERE YOU F***G LIVE
We'll burn it down, burn it down.
    They won't even
    recognize your corpse.

The world was stripped of its
    superficial surfaces.
We don't intend to just eat the street,
the asphalt is the good meat.
    And
We will sleep on the skin of its nightmares
We will sleep on the skin of its nightmares

"It's time to just kill this crowd, and scream
    as fucking loud..."

WE KNOW WHERE YOU F***G LIVE
WE KNOW WHERE YOU F***G LIVE
We'll burn it down, burn it down.
    They won't even
    recognize your corpse.
WE KNOW WHERE YOU F***G LIVE
WE KNOW WHERE YOU F***G LIVE
We'll burn it down, burn it down.
    They won't even
    recognize your corpse.

FIRE FIRE FIRE FIRE FIRE AWAY
FIRE FIRE FIRE FIRE FIRE AWAY
FIRE FIRE FIRE FIRE FIRE FIRE FIRE FIRE FIRE
FIRE FIRE FIRE FIRE FIRE AWAY

I love the sound of shells
    hitting the ground, man
I love the sound of shells
    hitting the ground.
    I love it.
I love the sound of shells
    hitting the ground, man
I love the sound of shells
    hitting the ground.
    I love it.

FIRE FIRE FIRE FIRE FIRE AWAY

I saw that. Doesn't sound right to me still. Maybe "Hi-Def is still life" is wordplay (Hi-Death), but doesn't sound right. And Dodge/ burn doesn't either. Idk Maybe I'm wrong.

I hear them but lyrics can be subjective anyways.
A system organized around the weakest qualities of individuals will produce these same qualities in its leaders.

I think it's a boring song with a chorus that is gratingly repetitive and instead of continuing down the path of what made The Pale Emperor such a standout Manson record (The slow dirty grooves, the melancholy and weariness), it instead treads back to mediocrity landing somewhere between the feel of HEOL and BV.

I still have high hopes for the record since the delay of its release is due to the recording of additional tracks which supposedly are the best ones, and the Say10 snippet which sounds fucking amazing.

The screamed vocals sounds really good though.

I still stand by my initial reaction/thoughts about the lyrical content. There's now a music video for it that contradicts the lyrical content. I find it amusing more than anything. "Oh, look. A Christian family. Let's kill them.". It's stupid. I think Manson was pointing that out and it was intentional. "We don't agree with you, so we're going to burn everything down.". There's a new moral panic here in America where as opposed to it being right wing evangelicals being authoritarians, now it's the other way around. Antichrist Superstar was a dumbed down concept album for pseudo intellectuals and wanna be occult bedroom dweller Satanists. Now we have, as a lot of fans are putting it, "The Return of the Antichrist Superstar!". I think they're correct but only his now usage of puns which are the lowest form of humor/wit a well as high school dropout edginess is even more dumbed down now for people who are heiling this "comeback". I think it will be a great record, so don't assume that I'm shitting on it. But as for the song, yeah. Again. I still stand by what I believe it represents or at least how I interpret it.

I agree with you- I see it as a marketing scheme, shock value entertainment for the masses, which is a sad reflection of today- and yesterday, even. It is a timeless thing- this draw to violence.

Good luck to the viewers foaming at the mouth--- let us know how you can fuck yourself down.

Violence exists, we did not create it, it is our most abundant natural resource and is renewable, disposable and exportable. Manson has always used it as a commodity through which to entice, shock and subjugate. He's unapologetic about its marketability, and I guess that riles up people who would quite happily and openly appropriate it in protest against this or anything else that contradicts their beliefs.

The video itself is popcorn bait and laden with platitudinous imagery but, I admit, it was fun to see the dandy highwayman and his consortium of saucy nun bandits reek stylised havoc in suburbia.

Whether you like it or not, I think "Boring" is the last thing I'd call it.

To not bog the thread down in negativity I'll say that the instrumentation in the build up to the first chorus really pulls me in and the lyrical imagery in the second verse is fantastic. What about the song is interesting to you?

I kinda look at it as an homage of sorts to his namesake. Maybe he's using the whole cult-family thing as a metaphor but I think it sounds pretty similar to the way America always looked at Charlie Manson and his drug dealing hoodlum friends at that ranch...

Could be wrong, also wouldn't know what the metaphor would be talking about. Probably just another dagger & swagger anthem.
I am your vulture, your immoral sculpture, mirrorman who understands. I know you. I am you, your fantasy, reality.

Don't be surprised I can look you in the eye. It's hard to take you serious when you take me inside.

How the fuck are we supposed to know when I'm a monster in the way you refuse to die? How the fuck are we supposed to know if we're in love or if we're in pain?
"Are we in love or are we in pain?"
