Jamie Lee Curtis returns to her iconic role as Laurie Strode in HALLOWEEN, released by Universal Pictures October 19, 2018. #HalloweenMovie

    Color me skeptical for now.

John Carpenter is attached to this as a consultant, and while he obviously has a long and illustrious filmography to his name, many of his more recent [and by 'more recent' I mean since the late 90s] pictures have been creative flops - Ghosts Of Mars, Escape From L.A., etc.

And they already did this with Halloween H20, which, while a serviceable film on a technical level, was also subject to a post-Scream tendency for horror films to be self-referential and 'ironic'.

That said, this picture is evidently meant to be another direct sequel to 1981's Halloween II, so we'll have to see just where it goes.
To revenge the misdeeds of the ruling class, there existed in the middle ages, in Germany, a secret tribunal, called the “Vehmgericht.” If a red cross was seen marked on a house, people knew that its owner was doomed by the “Vehm.”

All the houses of Europe are now marked with the mysterious red cross.

This outta be good. Two seniors going back and forth. What was that noise? An arthritic knock at the door? Is that Michael Myers shuffling about outside the window or was it merely the rustling of leaves on a windy autumn evening? Laurie can't tell, her hearing is pretty bad now and the damn hearing aid won't work properly. Nothing has really changed. She never did amount to anything more than just babysitting and now she's looking after her grandchildren but where are they? Did she take her meds today? Is she scared or just doddering? Maybe it's her diabeettus acting up again. Oh no, who's that huffing and puffing with a mask on clenching at his heart lumbering forward? Is that Michael from Bingo?

    Yawn.
