Blood Honey, Heaven Upside Down and Threats of Romance.

What I've wanted from him for the last ten years.

It was a difficult choice between Heaven Upside Down and Saturnalia. But I went with the latter. May be my new favorite Manson track. It’s of a perfect length, but yet not long enough. Very atmospheric and really puts you in a particular mood. It reminds me of the night desert. Beautiful.

And I LOVE the way Manson says “No emergency room in this tomb...” for the second time, specifically. Sounds so good.

I definitely agree that the sound of these tracks is what suits Manson very well. Especially at this point in his career. Some may not like them, but I find them refreshing. I’m much more interested in hearing him talk from a personal level than a political one.

Definitely the title track, closely followed by Saturnalia and Blood Honey.

I'm happy to see "Saturnalia" getting well-deserved recognition.

On the other hand, in my poll here for Born Villain, taken five years ago, "The Flowers Of Evil" - a comparable track to "Saturnalia", and one I voted for - came in third place, next to "Murderers..." and the title track. Today I feel like it'd be difficult to get anyone to talk in a complimentary way about "Flowers", just because it isn't fashionable to talk positively about Born Villain at all, and I'm worried the same fate may eventually befall "Saturnalia". It isn't exactly Manson's easiest listening song, after all.

[And I still think "The Flowers Of Evil" is the strongest on that album, though "Born Villain" is in contention too.]

I want to say Kill4Me but I think it's Saturnalia. I think it's one of the best Manson songs ever, it just has so much depth to me. One thing I love about this album's lyrics is they have very strong double meanings. In this case he's obviously talking about the god Saturn, and the derivatives of that god like Satan, but everything is easily about him as well. This has of course been true before but something about how it's done here really resonates with me. Maybe because he really is talking about himself, rather than it kind of focusing on a concept or allegorical character.

"Can't stop now, no flowers to smell
Earth ate up the sun, can't even load my gun
    It seems like Saturnalia
    Sat-sat-sat-sat-Saturnalia
    Sat-sat-sat-sat-Saturnalia"

I love this part, for a period I kept listening to it on repeat going back to it over and over again. I just love the phrase "It seems like Saturnalia" as well. It would be great as a tattoo or on merchandise.

I think Flowers of Evil has great potential, but failed due to terrible production.

"Heaven Upside Down" might be my favorite Manson song, period.
