You say there is no coincidence, yet the BBS Gentleman's Club which existed before the Golden Age of the Grotesque was announced were considered the 'Dandies of the BBS' (with top hats, cravats & tail coats). I believe this must be coincidence, or you looked to your fans for inspiration. What is it?

Answered by MM on 02/08/03:

I'm not sure what you are referring to exactly. I do recall a top hat being part of my wardrobe in 1994 or so and I do recall dandy aesthetics used during Mechanical Animals. I hope we are all having the time of our life. The clock hands are making fists. Let's not forget to dance.

“Use Your Fist and Not Your Mouth?” You’ve infected millions with your words. Your words and ideas have been rallied against and fought for. Mechanical Animals along with AntiChrist Svperstar touched me and millions. It made us think in different ways and the lyrics were superior: “But I’ll just suffer in a hope to die someday while you are numb all of the way.” You’re lyrics and thoughts have made people question their own beliefs and foundations. Not with “Fight! Fight! Fight!” But you were able to rally people with the intellect and wildness of the song Antichrist superstar! I miss the era’s pre holywood. The holywood music was very straight forward with little experimentation. Will we see another other side of you in the Age of grotesque? Is only your fist used? Thank you for your time, just another Mechanical Animal.

Answered by MM on 02/07/03:

Wait to hear for yourself. I think most others use their "fist" and I have chosen to speak in tongues this time around. All I ask for is an ear. One, if you've got a bit of Van Gogh in you.

Is 'Use Your Fist And Not Your Mouth' the first single? And when does it come out?

Answered by MM on 02/07/03:

No. But the single is on its way shortly. I am directing the video in a few weeks.

Answered by MM on 02/07/03:

If your name is Sophia, I am sorry I don't have the time or desire to call a girl who is so rude and demanding. If you truly are a fan, why do you fail to have the simple human respect for my privacy? I am flattered by all of your offers but I can't just trust every person who wants to come to my home and then curse me out. Please take no offense. I'll pretend you didn't tell me to fuck off. Good day to you young lady.

Congratulations for Ramones's version of the classic topic THE KKK TOOK MY BABY AWAY, if the first version had anger in his(its) speed, now when more of his(its) agony went slower konoce and interior anger, graces(thanks) and congratulations again, sincerely and affectionatly: Sergio (From Barcelona S-PAIN)

Answered by MM on 02/07/03:

I thought it was a tragic ballad and I wanted to add a Kurt Weill feel to it. I still don't know what the lyrics originally were meant to say but I found it odd enough to deform. I wanted it to be gentle and even romantic in some sick way.

I'm not here to berate or criticize anyone, I try to only criticize myself, but I think that I speak for most. Why not have added on the oracle to the site instead of replacing the bbs? I assume that most of your fans don't get listened to very often, and this is a great way for us, no doubt to be heard out by you, but in the bbs, we had people that we had a very good chance in them actually responding. Of course there were the jackasses that did stupid things on the site, but I remember a girl posting questioning if she should lose her virginity. She got a lot of insight and opinions from people who care, and maybe it was just a cry for attention, but she got it. Did she make the right decision? I don't know, but she got insight. I doubt that she would have gotten insight in a place like the oracle. I know it's being said a lot, but I think that that was what the bbs stood for. It stood as a place where people understood each other, where us outcasts could talk to one another and get help, or joke around, and have fun. I know that there are not many fans that live near me, or if they are, they're hiding. I'm sure you have you'r reasons for removing it, and I trust your judgement, but if you could tell me if you think that removing the bbs was a really good idea and if it was your idea, because a lot of people seem angry. Also, best of luck on tour, I'll be there, and I think that it is silly for people to stop liking you or any musician, at that because of a website. I thought fans liked musicans for their mind and music. one more thing, I can't see what I'm typing without highlighting it in this box, can someone fix it??? Best Wishes, Jugend.

I have never said that the message board was gone for good and I understand your desire to keep in contact with your friends. I found that the place had come down with a tumor of sorts and it is recovering in the best hospital. The Oracle was already incubating and happened to be born simultaneously.

As the world tears our bodies, minds and hearts apart, how do we still keep our souls intact? Sometimes all the creative pursuits and outlets n the world don't seem to be enough for many. I know you may think this new format for communcation is wonderful and the fans should getting on their hands and knees to thank you, but to all those BBS members who struggle day in, day out to keep the world from sucking out their souls, what do you say to them? How will you make them feel better about taking away potentially their only form of communication (good or bad, right or wrong) with others like them? Still, I do not expect for one minute that you will answer these questions. For even this is still one of the worst forms of censorship I know, because you still control what you will and will not answer, all whilst saying you are open to communication and freedom of speech with your fans... but just as long as it fits your agenda, right? I would suggest you do not start something you don't mean to do properly and in true fashion MM, AD. It is not your style and already caused much anger and resentment on what existed before 'this'. For the record, I think the oracle is a grandiose idea and brilliant in principle - what grorp of fans would not want to have the chance to ask their idol questions? But in practice I am yet to be convinced. Then again, who am I to be convinced anyway? Best wishes with the oracle and new album MM, AD. Maybe this time you may be able to include Australia when you tour...

Answered by MM on 02/06/03:

I never intended to create a place people needed to exist or to take one away. I hope that any loss can be focused into something more than this keyboard prison. The bbs is really just in your mind. I'm here to communicate, I'm not looking for thank-yous. I'm here to listen, and you can believe that. But you already have all the answers, you know that deep down.
