In the back of "The Satanic Rituals" it states, "The infant is learning to walk, and by the first Working Year of his age--that is to say 1984--he will have steadied his steps, and by the next--2002--he will have attained maturity, and his reign will be filled with wisdom, reason and delight." You released Mechanical Animals near the end of 1998, with the "I" replaced with a "1" and the "S" replaced with a "5", hence the number "15" which a child born in 1984 would have been 15 in 1999, and now "Golden Age of Grotesque" is being released soon, (2003), and if the child is born on the 19th it would make it their "golden" birthday. Is there any relation to all of this, or is it pure coinceidence?

Answered by MM on 02/06/03:

THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS COINCIDENCE.

Answered by MM on 02/06/03:

It's not fair to generalize any group of people. I don't feel like I have recieved anything but support. Manson fans take a part of my pain and they are like family. I can see someone in the front row that I recognize from 5 years ago and it's like we never missed a day.

I want to be the first to divulge that I am ALL FOR THE ORACLE. This is what I've been wishing for. The rest of your fans need to realize that this is our chance to elevate/lower (however you look at it) your status from untouchable dandy dada rock antigod to touchable dandy dada rock antigod. Like you've written, what we get from this depends upon what we put into it. Now, having said that, to my question--what can I do to help with the GROTESQUE BURLESK? In all seriousness, I want to contribute as much as you'd allow--for you see, I'm a jack of all trades as well.

Answered by MM on 02/06/03:

YOU HAVE JUST BECOME. JACK JACK JACK!

What do you think would motivate a person when they feel trapped in a society that is the closest to free, but not, a person that has a super perspective on life verses a person that just lives like everyone else on the narrow road to occupy their values (wether good or evil), a person that is so indecisive because they have lost all sense of value other than what has been programmed into thought in order to live within the "multitude", a person like me that once new themselves as a child, but found himself living just for life's sake? Do you find it hard to be interested in anything at all like me? Thanks for another perspective MM.

Answered by MM on 02/06/03:

The constrictions of our own insecurities have made us a society that is afraid to say or do what we want. I'm not just speaking of "controversial" art or music. The worst censorship is our own cowardice. Under the microscope, your every move is analyzed and picked apart by unappointed critics posing as physicians. Let's leave criticism to underpayed underachievers. Anything you create or witness can not have the same value twice. Virgins can only be deflowered once. I became an artist so that I could express myself however I wanted. Mocking me for my musical decisions or my choice of companions is even more weak than the self-righteous who condemn me for my morals. At least their fear isn't rooted in jealousy. Don't forget that you are a threat--a swarm--a broken melody, and the magic of truth hides in exile within the minds of children and "madmen." Don't look past the obvious gifts you have been given. Every minute is more important than the last. I hope that answers your question.

Are you happy?

Answered by MARILYN MANSON on 02/06/03:

Yes, in fact. We are a strong unit...as a band and as a movement. This will be the beginning of the greatest period in my life, artistically and personally. There is no longer a difference between the two, if there ever was to begin with. The album and tour details are very complete and I will talk about them more in my journal.
